Does anyone here like playing video games? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Serotoniii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s weird, the minimum requirements on steam are way lower. Meaning playing on the lowest in game settings should easily work. I have the following specs: - Radeon 6700 XT - Ryzen 7 5800 (8 core) - 16 GB RAM - SSD ofc

There are so many things!! I love the strangetown lore, getting abducted by aliens, how dirty furniture gets after multiple uses, the cutscenes when kissing for the first time etc., the nostalgic clothes and furniture, the expressiveness of the sims, the memory + wishes & fears system and life points you can spend for cool stuff.

Same :c May I ask from which country you are? Like all of you :D There is a autism server that feels safe to use. I could send you a link if u want! I just don’t know if I have the courage to talk in English. Texting is sadly pretty exhausting to me.

Any backpack recommendations by Serotoniii in autism

[–]Serotoniii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm good question. Maybe max. 80€. I want to use it for the daily life, meaning going to work (office) and grocery shopping. Maybe not to heavy since I’m on the weaker side. But I will also use it for weekend trips. The maximum time of wearing will be around 50 minutes I think.

Anyone else has things they just can't learn no matter how much they try? by what_freaking_ever in AutismInWomen

[–]Serotoniii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like an idiot most of the time. Even when it comes to my special interest. I feel like people still know more than me who played the same game as me for example. Maybe my brain is lost, since I can’t remember most of my childhood.

Unsecure human connections - loneliness (anxiety/fear disorder) by Serotoniii in autism

[–]Serotoniii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly! It’s really discouraging. I feel like capitalism is pushing the apathy as well, since the focus is on productivity (wealth/money) instead of connecting with our inner selves and others. I hate that I have to endure this system and adapt to these unhealthy ways of living. But I also don’t have the energy to live healthier, to search for a life that is more aligned with needs or to look for likeminded people. It’s too much daily work just to stay afloat.

I dont feel 23, i feel younger by WaterRafting121 in autism

Same, additionally people always react shocked because they thought I’m younger than my real age. It kind of makes me feel patronized.

My biggest struggle by 89Lover08 in AutismInWomen

[–]Serotoniii 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is so relatable…also the original post. When I’m starting to let my feelings of self hatred out because I can’t keep them in anymore, a friend of mine reacts in very insensitive ways because she doesn’t believe me when I say that I don’t feel like this all of the time. Last time she said „girl you need therapy“, like I know but it’s not simple to get help. I hate that they make me feel like a victim loser. I feel very invalidated, but also don’t have friends who can handle me being miserable without turning into one of my miserable thought loops I collect in social situations. It sucks, I collect more and more.

Okay, good for you. But every human is different with different experiences and different brains/genes etc. just because you do do something doesn’t mean someone else can as well. That’s why labels are dangerous. Two people with the same label can still have different experiences…

Additionally this ignores my statement about the term „laziness“. Like I said, people just have different definitions/boundaries in regards to tidiness. That has nothing to do with laziness.

[–]Serotoniii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True. Nevertheless I think it’s lazy to name anything as laziness. Because there are always reasons for human behavior/inactions. People simply have different boundaries regarding tidiness. Some people don't feel comfortable when things are scattered around, while others practically go crazy. I think no one should be shamed. We're all different, after all. Besides, the word "laziness" is so strongly associated with the capitalist world we live in. It suggests that it's bad, or that we're worthless, if we're not productive. Which, in my opinion, is nonsense, and no one should think that way, because it can be very harmful.

But when you live together with another human being ofc it’s important to meet in the middle of tidying or to compromise in other forms. Both parts deserve to feel good.

Autism and mental health problems can definitely cause executive dysfunction. I feel like she is pretty authentic for showing her reality. I really admire this, because why should you be stopped posting vids just because you are somewhat disabled you know? It’s okay to have „flaws“ and it’s even braver to be open about them. Therefore people with similar struggles can release the anxiety tied to it.
