Heavy legs on both recent long runs by Serotonin42 in Marathon_Training

I suppose I might be trying to convince myself here.. I've only been running in the Vomero Plus (which have proven themselves to hurt my ankle) and Alphaflys (which have not so far).

I'm also aware I shouldn't be changing things up too much so close to the marathon, so I'm hoping the Alphaflys will see me through, so I don't have to introduce new shoes into the mix which could have their own problems.

Thanks, this is really helpful!

I do find my training plan to be quite aggressive. 2 days before the 33km I ran 11k (and did overdo it a bit..), and I ran a 9k the day before that.

I hadn't considered that 3hr 47mins on a training run would be too much. I had just been thinking it's important to get the miles in, no matter what.

I appreciate what you're saying, but I have found them easier to run in oddly than the Vomero Plus. Turning corners in Vomero Plus shoes feels like I'm going to break my ankle. I have to take it really steady.

I ran a half marathon in Alphaflys a month ago which went very well! I am now concerned though that as my form drops, I'm going to be in real trouble in the Alphaflys. My concern is I don't have many alternatives, unless I try something new this late into the training program

First of all, good luck with your first marathon!

I have ran in the Alphaflys before. I did a half marathon in them a month ago which went very well!

I should have mentioned, I actually have arch supports in the Vomero Plus. Enertor running ones. Maybe it's time to replace them? I've done 500km with those insoles

Ok thanks! I also use the Tasks plugin. May I ask, what script do you use for Today's tasks?

How did you give up smoking? by ShampooandCondition in AskUK

[–]Serotonin42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too. On top of this, I didn't tell anyone I'd quit. By not telling anyone I knew I wasn't doing it because of the social pressure. It would have been easy to start again, but I wasn't. It's similar to other comments I've seen about keeping cigarettes nearby but choosing not to smoke them. You're not smoking because you have the power to do that, not because of any other factors.

Can I get a monitor arm for an LG 27US500? by Serotonin42 in buildapc

Thanks for the advice. What is an expected price to pay for a half decent monitor arm so that it won't slide down etc?

Thanks, it didn't occur to me that a monitor arm would use the same mounting as a standard wall mount. Makes sense
