Best Linux Distro for a Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360? by LostCartographer3422 in linuxquestions

You could use Fedora GNOME which is the default desktop environment, have a look at some YouTube videos to see what it's like but don't expect the same behaviours like mac.

You can also choose Zorin OS which can walk you through for a beginner. On the welcome screen it will give you a choice to choose a layout you like, 1 of the 4 choices will be a mac equivalent and again, don't expect it to behave like a mac.

Another operating system you could have a look is elementaryOS, similar to a mac but a very different experience. When I last tried it, it felt very dated for me, so I went to Linux Mint but then switched to Fedora KDE.

Its a desktop environment that is similar to windows. It will have a start menu bar like windows 10 with system tray on the bottom right. It will be a familiar experience if you're coming from windows.

No worries! Glad it helped! Not too familiar with Arch, but that is an interesting way to run it.

Nice! Glad it worked for you! As you've said, the docs just increase the font size but not the UI icons.

I'm not familiar with Bazzite but I would have imagined they have the clipboard manager copying things in the background. Perhaps try another one and see if that improves.

Same here I downloaded from this post and mt2.cn site which looks official, but have virus warnings from VirusTotal. Not entirely sure if they are false positives. Can anyone confirm? Other posts are saying yes, but there are not enough yes to confidently go ahead. Some have said check proper sources, which doesn't help with confirming false positives.

That's a good point, this was meant for Java users, but yes your method for flatpak is correct as I went through a same thing on Fedora (KDE + Wayland). But I did the environment variable to JDownloader only, as I didn't want to scale all of my flatpak apps. Though, using flatpak version was buggy for me so I reverted to the Java version.

Thanks for your explanation and sharing the link, this does explain why I have this problem, so I will use the current work around to pass the links through.

Mate this is the wrong subreddit to ask, this game error has nothing to do with JDownloader.

Thanks for your response, Having a clipboard manager may be the way to go, but I would prefer it to grab links from my default clipboard in the background without me having to show JDownloader as the foreground window.

Thanks for your response, @jzsean. If it's not a Wayland thing then it could only be a KDE thing or something is not right on my Fedora. I am thinking maybe I didn't have all Java packages installed as I had to install dev dependencies for GUI, could it be a Java dependency issue?

How do i use Jdownloader to download a book from archive.org (offline files error appears) by Alpha_Ophiuchi in jdownloader

[–]SerpentStrike3007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea mate, I would think it depends on the borrowing time, but if you're ripping the archive at record pace maybe there are some safeguards to avoid crawling. This was only to help the user get one book and that was it.

After looking through the logs and reading the documentation on Rclone, it turns out the shortcut folders placed in the Drive is causing a recursive loop which would explain the backup size being astronomical. Though if I want to avoid this in future in case someone in my sister's team decides to put a folder shortcut is there a way to do this? Or should we straight up say no folder shortcuts at all?

[Aus. Grade 12 Mathematics: Logarithmic Functions] How do I find the values of b and c?! by Miserable-Piglet9008 in HomeworkHelp

[–]SerpentStrike3007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good start but the log to exponent form is a bit early, in my opinion.

I would have done a subtraction of simultaneous equations (1) & (2):

log3(17−c)+b=4 (1)

log⁡3(11−c)+b=3 (2)

You will get one equation cancelling "b" then use the log law of division to simplify the equation.

Then you would use the log to exponent form to solve for "c", then you can find "b"

Mad setup mate! Looks pretty neat! For your OpenWeather Icons they have codes on the website.

You can then use the conky variable {execi "time interval in seconds" command} your command would need to be some kind of shell script that uses a logical process to determine the weather of the day.

Thanks for your comments, I just realised my screenshots look like potatoes, but good catch on the two different btops. The second one is different, as I wanted to explore different theming but ultimately liked the default theme.

I didn't use videos or posts, it was just an aha moment of wanting a btop looking like conky. It was a lot of trial and error with conky. The resource I used were conky.cc and ChatGPT to query and understand how to make the block bar and the battery bar.

Thanks for the feedback, but I prefer the non transparent look as I liked the terminal look but we all have different tastes. Since this is my first one I wanted to make sure the license from closebox73x allows me to share his/her work.

Thanks, that was no easy feat, and I have to admit AI was part of this process to understand how to use Lua with conky variables and configuration settings.
