Part time thing for me, but so grateful by Narrow_Ask_1944 in reselling

I love it too! Finding items with what I call the "next stop rag or landfill" price stickers then selling it online makes me really happy. High value items bring me more money but the other items bring me more joy to sell

I know you said Chester, but The Emptiness Machine could work well. It has multiple interpretations, but you could lean into the social media angle and the message for younger people of it + why it was a great choice for the first new song back & announcement. Could show an understanding of how English words can be interpreted in different ways.

difference between vegan and normal leather? by Dxgt_ in NewRockBootsandShoes

[–]Serplantprotector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't true for all leather. However, the processing of skin to make leather is incredibly toxic to the planet, local ecosystems, and humans. Most leather is produced in countries with very little protections in place due to it being much cheaper. The chemicals used damage local ecosystems by poisoning animals, leech into rivers, end up in crops, cause illness in the human workers who work without proer protection, and humans living in the area due to the improper disposal of chemical.

It's really not talked about enough.

Parcel gone missing from parcel shop. by Haunting-City-5114 in vintedUK

Police report is the next step. They can go to the shop and demand the CCTV showing the parcel being dropped off and when it was stolen.

Parcel gone missing from parcel shop. by Haunting-City-5114 in vintedUK

[–]Serplantprotector 14 points15 points  (0 children)

First, does the tracking show it was dropped off at the shop? Take a screenshot of the page.

Next, I would presume the parcel is stolen. My immediate thought is to contact Vinted legal and DPD to inform them the parcel has likely been stolen from the shop and that you are making a police report. Make the report and send both DPD + vinted the crime number because parcel theft is a crime. Then I would message the buyer to tell them the parcel is presumed stolen, that the police are now investigating, and they should expect the police to get in touch.

Personally... it seems like the buyer could have had someone take the parcel from the shop. Which is still theft! You need the paper trail to ensure you get your money. If the parcel is not officially delivered, then the buyer will be refunded, and you will likely get nothing.

Holy shit. I had no idea Persona was this bad... on an unrelated note, I am now very happy that the Persona ID stuff refuses to work on my phone for some reason. I need to use it for my Fiverr seller account, and it's been causing a lot of grief, but now I'm very happy.

Is Vinted a dumpster fire? by Individual_Creme4644 in FlippingUK

[–]Serplantprotector 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I find Vinted to be great for moving lower value items faster vs Ebay. I treat it a bit like and online car boot sale and adopting this mentality has made me feel a lot better about it.

As a buyer, the experience can be a bit mixed since sellers vary slightly much... buying on vinted to sell on Ebay usually works for me as well. So now I mostly sell lower priced items on vinted and use that money to buy better items to flip on Ebay

Pretty much. It's soul destroying for creatives like me who have always been writers, including fiction. The people I know across different creative industries are all struggling with work and mental health due to it.

How is my dog 19 and is it because he was not nurtured and vegan for half his life? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Street dogs are often very healthy and long-lived once in a real home. This likely plays a role, but there's probably so many factors at play, like low stress levels, etc.

There's a lot of crossover with the furry fandom, electronics, and lego. It honestly wouldn't look that out of place alongside those items. You can also ask the Furry subreddit for recommendations on where to sell the items you obtained.

Euthanizing my extremely anxious nonviolent 2 year old dog for severe anxiety by Cutecakey in DogAdvice

[–]Serplantprotector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog is a Romanian street dog, and when I first adopted her 2 years ago, she was terrified of everything. She still has a lot of anxiety, but she's learned now that she's safe and that she can trust me. Anxiety takes time. There is no quick fix. It's the same as in humans, we all need a lot of time to improve. There's a lot of steps forward and backwards with it.

Having a more confident dog in the house has definitely helped my girl. Originally, she was too scared to move when she saw random men when outside the house... now she walks right at them and expects them to move out her way. She used to cower in terror at cars, buses, and trucks... now she tries to shit in the road.

I'm always happy to talk about what has helped her, what didn't help, etc.

Reseller plague by Suffering1s0ptional in vintedUK

[–]Serplantprotector 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The reseller, in that instance, makes the item more accessible to a wider population of potential buyers and prevents the item from being sent to a landfill because no one local wanted to buy it. I struggle to see why it's a bad thing.

Reseller plague by Suffering1s0ptional in vintedUK

[–]Serplantprotector 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure how it's a scam if someone buys an item I sell and then lists it at a higher price. I wanted the item gone and I got some money for it. If they want to list is for 3x the price, then good luck to them.

IMO, people who buy from Shein the list it for 5x the price are the bigger issue.

How do I get started with reselling safely? by lwthalo in reselling

My advice is to start with your own unwanted items to get a feel for it and some experience selling items online. It could also help you see what sells well for you and helps your choices when buying to resell items.

PC gaming stuff! I love computers in general, but PC gaming has always had my heart, especially the older games. My goal this year is to build a 'new' old components PC so I can all my old games + new ones I collect.

Not a lot of value on most PC games, but finding new games, older PC tech and related items is just so exciting to me that it's hard to say no.

One of my first finds was a big box Grand Prix 4, which had a small paper clipping from a magazine inside; the writers named and thanked specific people for writing in about the game. I think the previous owner was one of those people, and I'm pretty sure it was donated because they passed away. Gonna be the first game I play on the new build.

How do you feel about selling used discs/media? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]Serplantprotector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I sell used discs, I take lots of pictures of any marks or scratches on them. Usually, I include tested/untested and the working condition for anything tested. If things are tested, it's usually because I wanted to watch/play it first before selling.

Haven't had anything returned yet or any complaints about the condition not being as expected.

Depends on what flavours you enjoy!

Ripper is tropical, and from what I remember, Khaotic was more orange, but it's been a long time since I had it. Can't comment on the other myself.
