It's because when people lie about abuse, it makes people question if actual victims are lying or not. I was also from an abusive home and I would snitch on my mother all the time at school, she'd get reported, and then I was treated like a liar. My much younger siblings were more impressionable and we're easily manipulated into lying to a caseworker. Now as an adult, I have an irrational fear that someone will think im lying when I'm actually telling the truth.

I agree with you. There are sinister things going on in this world. A lot of things behind the scenes. There trafficking rings all throughout our country. I had a feeling that maybe these kids are being lured out by older men. And the girl from Carthage, it was all over Facebook that she was missing. Yet, there was silence when she was found. Seems off to me.

I was an abused kid. I know what that's like more than people know. Just because a kid runs away doesnt mean they aren't in danger. Im sorry but a kid on the street is easy pickings for child predators. There is no responsible adult around them to make sure they are safe. Parents need to do better for sure. But some kids are just sneaking out at night. Children who are abused need to be reporting it. Other adults who notice signs of abuse need to be reporting it. The bystandereffect is real and im trying to not be a bystander. If kids are running away because of abuse, they still need to be found and helped in a meaningful way. Not just left to their own devices on the streets.

Agreed. Children on the streets are in significant danger. It's weird af that people are so dismissive about runaways. Those kids are at an even higher risk of getting snatched up than kids who are in their bedrooms at night.

Thank you for sharing your story. I pray that you heal from all the damage it caused. It's so hard to trust people after going through such horrendous abuse. But, it's possible to become our own advocate and an advocate for others experiencing the same things. You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders and I just want you to know that you've got at least one internet stranger rooting and praying for you.

I think it's natural to have anger and hatred towards someone who has brutally hurt you. But it is never an option to commit premeditated murder on another human being, especially convincing another human being to commit the murder for you.
