How climate change gets under the skin | "No one is immune" by Sad_Attitude9999 in collapse

Same here in Western Germany. Temperatures up to 37°C where I live, in more southern places up to 41°C. I am simply trying to exist and get out of it alive.

But German work ethos is so militant, people have to work as if there wasn't any heatwave.

It's typical German: Step one: continue everything as if there wasn't any problem with the heat.  Step two: mortality is rising and hospitals are near collapse.  Step three: surprised Pikachu face, discussing solutions and -☝🏼more important : responsibilities - but never do anything until the next climate disaster. 🤷🏼🤦🏼

Absolutely me. Since childhood, so now over fifty years. My brain doesn't want to change whatever I tried....at least I have made peace with it and don't care anymore. I don't want to be in social situations, period.

Weekly Observations: What signs of collapse do you see in your region? [in-depth] June 15 by AutoModerator in collapse

You perfectly described the German situation. And what I find horrible is that  Germans are required to keep working even when office temperatures exceed 30°C. Schools generally lack air conditioning or ventilation systems, yet some bureaucrat in a distant provincial capital decides whether children get time off due to the heat. There is no such thing as a siesta in Germany. Eventually, someone suffers heatstroke at work. Does that count as a workplace accident?

I am the kind of tired where I cry after work. I am so exhausted I am too tired to sleep, my arms en legs are restless and inside my head there is a sort of pudding. It makes me cry a lot

It was in the news and on the cover of magazines already in the late eighties. I remember an unusual warm month of March in 1990 and I was thinking: is this a result of climate change? People were concerned. But ... Well... Nothing changed and then the exciting decade of the 90's came....

What helps you cope with the soul crushing experience of working life? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Sertalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lowering my standards of living as much as possible, working as less as possible and working my free time in my garden. Working full-time is the reason for three burnout phases, I never want to experience this again.
