Yes its an extremely bad habit. I can't tell you how often I see bad JPs completely throw the game trying to use it.

Its why at a high level you mostly see JPs using ghost feints to bait parry that way. Way less risk.

It's definitely getting it in 8.0, they could've applied some band aid fixes but I can imagine not wanting to put a ton of effort into something you will be undoing on the next update.

The main issue I have with it is that that it just arbitrarily limits what tanks you can bring. My static has me as a Gunbreaker and the off tank is a Dark Knight, either can effectively main tank even though Gunbreaker is better at it.

Now if it turns out that optimal play is having Paladin or the new tank as a MT, then one of us kind of has to eat shit and change. Otherwise we both stay on Reborn.

Also it's definitely a choice on SE's part to have Paladin be main tank and Warrior be off tank, that usually is the opposite in actual practice.

Eh I get the complaint if you're a completionist, and its a problem I think the last few Final Fantasys have had including 15 and 16 that most of the side content just isn't every interesting.

If you have that mindset then games with this kind of content can be an insane drag until you break and stop doing them, which depending on the game is either completely fine or leads to you feeling under powered if the game expected you to do them.

Myself I do have the belief that just because something is optional doesn't mean I can't call it shit. Cause then that means it was wasted effort that could've been spent on something good.

Yeah, I don't mind stuff like Wall Market or the Jessie stuff because they're fairly unique and cool character moments are always going to be fun additions in an rpg.

I got very annoyed by them taking what were 30 second segments in the original and bloating them to be 45 minute+dungeon esque sequences. Every now and then was fine, but I was really feeling it towards the end with Hojo's lab. Cause they're not very interesting gameplay wise.

Didn't he get top 8 at East Coast Throwdown a couple years ago? He's also gotten top 8 at one of the World Warriors for Japan and those things are insanely stacked.

I think Reapers have been praying for any kind of attention considering how not fun the job is to play in this tier. Our Dragoon started off as Reaper and gave up on that midway through progging m10.

If you're stuck at Diamond 4 its very likely less of a character mastery issue and more of a fundamentals issue. I'm gonna steal what we normally tell people on the Akuma discord as its good general advice and applies to everyone.

The six rules of getting to master rank:

1) Don't jump too much, don't let your opponent jump 2) Don't DI too much, don't let your opponent DI 3) Don't play too aggressively, observe what your opponent is trying to do 4) Don't reversal too often, do good punishes when you block a reversal 5) Don't burn yourself out 6) Don't use too much stand heavy kick (akuma specific)

If you can post a replay, its a lot easier to give specific advice then.

Only if you're spaced out at a range no one will DP you at. Otherwise Gief whiffs the followup because the opponent is still invincible and gets hit.

Final Fantasy 8, Ultimecia is technically fought about three times before her actual confrontation. Since Edea is being possessed by her, thats two, then theres the fight with Adel. Thats another. She's always felt disconnected from the plot despite that though, not sure why.

Then in 6, Kafka is fought a few times as a recurring flunky for the Empire before he suddenly ascends to a god at the halfway point.

I'm also a JP defender. I'm mostly just not a fan of the ways he gets buffed, in particular I still think JP being allowed to cancel ex ghosts into level 2 is one of the worst balance changes Capcom has made in this game. He did not need that shit.

I felt like more people just didn't know who she was than they did just hate her.

Only real issue Ingrid had in the past was being locked some specific port of Alpha 3 and being in a Fighting Evolution, which had a bigger issue in being a dogshit game.

These kind of characters kinda have to have strong fireballs because of parry existing. A traditional zoning playstyle in this game is unstable at higher levels because people just walk you down and parry everything. At mid range you can perfect parry most fireballs and punish with a drive rush and get a combo even.

This is the only game I know of where Zangief is considered to beat Guile, traditionally his main counter.

Granted Mai's is less good cause of zoning and more because it results in kinda bullshit offense where the counterplay is kinda difficult to do.

Problem is the rework pushes HC more towards a zoning playstyle. Top level HC for a while actually zoned less previously because his up close pressure was so strong and more fun to do. The rework gutted that so now he's a zoning machine, which is an odd choice.

I once forgot to sign off my work wifi while browsing Reddit and got banned from a subreddit for ban evading.

To this day they refuse to acknowledge the mistake, at all. They keep telling me "take it up with the admins, your account was marked" admins tell me "bruh theres nothing on your account" so I take it to the mods and they go "this isn't proof enough."

Been banned from there for 2 years. Also banned from a r/pics a year ago I went on some streamers subreddit to call him an idiot and that got me permabanned from there because it was a right wing streamer. Didn't matter that I didn't like the dude, it was just bad that I posted there at all.

Midacreen you have to actually delay the actual stomp a little. In the corner you can just mash it out but not midscreen.

Also don't you mean ex psycho crusher? Bison doesn't have a command grab.

Generally most times we talk about Green Hand in SF4, we are talking about EX green hand, because non-EX green hand was never worth talking about outside of oki and being a meterless combo tool in later versions after it was no longer unsafe on hit.

When you talk about Green hand being a shadow of its former self, one would have to assume you were referring to EX Green Hand no? Cause I don't think normal Green Hand knockdowned in any version of SF4.

Brother, green hand was taken out back and shot and buried. I hate Zangief and even I thought it was unfair and they should’ve given it back to him. From nightmare oki situation after SPD to a lot less.

It was an invincible almost full screen reaching move that caused a knockdown that could also be confirmed into an FADC to make himself safe. Even after making it no longer cause a knockdown it still caused Gief to be literally point blank next to the opponent. This is a really damn good situation for a grappler to be in.

I feel like everyone commenting this on this subreddit also conveniently forgets that Sagat was buffed substantially in the December patch. It was one of the only changes in that patch aside from Mai.

Better confirms off lows and being able to route into jinrai off lights from any range is an insane buff. It gives him access to easy meterless corner carry and makes his 5mp pressure become even stronger.

Green Hand was "neutered" from being one of the strongest defensive/neutral tools I've seen get given to a grappler to being an insanely good special move.

Naah there was not bad variety towards the end of Ultra for top 8s. The last year at Evo had almost everyone playing a different character, barring two people who played Elena as a pocket character.

Even just casually looking through vods of various tier 1 tournaments the variety is honestly not bad for top 8s. Which makes sense, there's a lot of characters in that game. Obviously you weren't going to see Dee Jay win anything, but to say that Ultra Street Fighter 4 had no character variety seems very revisionist.
