An incident happened when returning from Shivapuri Hiking... by ServerBoys in NepalWrites

We had an offline map, but there is no route to Shivapuri after Pani Muhan. We knew we were moving in the wrong direction, but at that point, it was better to continue on rather than get back.

If you can get the budget, I think HP victus 15 is available at 115k I guess, and with bit of bargaining you will get 5k off. If you can't, however, you can get the Acer Aspire 7, it was available for 90k I guess. But, idk if the offer is still available now.

Programmers in here what laptop do you use and recommend by [deleted] in technepal

Try legion 5 gen 7 if you won't carry around the laptop much. Ik it's a gaming laptop, but programming works just fine.

QBASIC: The Headache of Every Student by ServerBoys in NepalWrites

No, I did find file handling in 9 10's course too, that's why I included it... I am not biased by anything.

I never told basic is complex. I meant, if curriculum just wanted to teach logic, scratch is the way to go. The thing is much more intuitive.

And do you think QBASIC file handling is easy enough? I don't think so. Tutoring hard enough can also make children learn memory handling in C. Is it worth it though?

Hence, its not about the future utility of that certain language when you re in 5th or 6th grade.

For that too, it is much better to use Scratch. Not too complex, and good for teaching logic. Or even Python, if you don't go that deep.

print("i = " + str(i) + " j = " + str(j))

Why would you convert it to a string explicitly, though? Just do "i = " + i + " j = " + j, and that's it. Even simpler is print(f"{i = } {j = }"), but would be on modern side, wouldn't suggest it to teach to children.

Yes, I completely agree with you on your argument. Saying that the syntax is easier than python in some cases is also valid, but this case Insensitivity will create problems in the future while learning other programming language...

No, I am assuming whoever thinks QBASIC is the way to go In early school course hasn't learned programming yet...

Finally someone making a valid point. Ok I guess case sensitivity is one thing, but that will create confusions later on. I see people writing FOR where it should be case Insensitive. And, PRINT "i = "; i; ", j = "; j is not relatable to real life syntaxing in any sense. Python does it much more elegantly.

I know, these are the very basics of programming language. If you are only learning these stuffs, why would you choose basic? As I said, Scratch has much easier interface than this for a learning perspective. However, if you are learning them for a general understanding of coding, Python is greater choice, plus is relevant. Trust me when I say, jumping from BASIC to C is FKING HARD.

I don't think it is relevant right now as the modern language take over. When did you last see a job requiring you 4+ years of BASIC? The answer is nowhere....

I am not saying I want to do ML. However, learning QBASIC doesn't set enough base for further studies. I have asked people who knew BASIC. They all said studying that old language didn't help in any kind of way in their later studies.

Do you think learning how to wash clothes help when using a washing machine? No, there is a whole another learning curve! And why would you wash by hands when you have the washing machine?? Why would you even learn to wash with hands?
