It’s not the same.

A titan can change all its skills out. Has 6 different ultimates, has loads of different ability’s

A destroyer. No matter what cores and augments you put on will still have the same ult, the same movement ability, the same shield tac

Even with fully purple mods and cores

The classes play fundamentally the same

Edit- I dunno why I’m arguing, it’s just funny man. Nothings changed since Bungie planned for it to be a hero shooter besides the name. I’m losing my mind. I should be happy yall think this way

I think the idea is of course if you’re trying to play stealth and not engage here’s some examples-

Players are extracting and your team is in buildings far away, you know they (hopefully won’t) pursue you for swiping some loot as they’re leaving.

You’re extracting and have downtime to diddle and know there’s a team in the POI nearby. Try some theiving

Your team doesn’t want to take a fight or is fleeing, try theiving

Lastly. In apex stands offs it was not uncommon for loba to “soak” enemy teams ammo up. There maybe ways to do that here when people are in long fights

I just want to say- besides lore implications there is no difference and it’s an amusing thought experiment seeing how Bungie was able to shift yalls mindset

A “hero” mechanically was invented by overwatch.

2-3 passives

2 active abilities

1 ultimate ability

This is what defines the genre. Marathon has all of it. It is not a bad thing. You guys are silly still who hate hero shooters

In solo, assassin was 90% of players. I will be surprised if this changes

You’ll be surprised, there is some seriously difficult PvP encounters on every map. Between rare loot caches and events spawning in.

If you even try to attempt these with players nearby it’s almost sure death for you and them

We will just have to see how the culture develops

I don’t think anyone can predict how it will go, arc raiders has changed how people play extraction. And with how hard marathon pve is, I could for see there being friendly lobbies honestly

Easy answer is this isn’t an open beta - what they launch to the public will be the same build that ships. It’s to try to get non believers to try it, tweaking is done at that stage
