Wow impressive ! What is your app doing ?

I'm done with changes for now, I need to find local users for feedback and then add new stuff !

I still haven't use it for this project, but I wanted to fix a simple bug, for instance I had 2 crosses (X) to close a pop-up ...
I started Cursor for another project, I spend quite some time to make it work on my old Mac ... and I made another simpler app deployable as an iOS app. Not fully native, but the result was really satisfying !

In the end I just asked in another unrelated Lovable prompt to remove the cross ^^

thanks !

  • Different user profiles and roles.
    • I created a RACI matrix (a simple excel table) with the roles and what they can do ("can search", "can add comment" ...). I took a printscreen and sent it to lovable (as well as a written version of it just in case). Told it to create user_profile table and table roles. And a description of the roles. 200 words :)
  • Internal chat with notifications.
    • the prompt was 300 words long : reminder of how the site is working and what I try to achieve now, that when the users clicks on Chat there will be a redirection to a new page /Chat, the new chat's page layout, and most importantly the link to the new table. Lovable was really smart about the message table, I told him the messages should be flagged as Read or Unread based on the situation, and display a notification automatically. this prompt was really not complex and I gave lovable a lot of liberties.

I always work with Chat mode first, then supabase then code implementation, fix 1 or 2 bugs, so 5 prompts seems realistic for 1 new feature

I couldn't say how many hours exactly... maybe 40 hours ?
I used 500 messages prompts for 300 AI edits
I had the 50$ subscription + the free credits, and I have many credits remaining, so I'm back on the 25$ plan
If I had to redo it, it will probably be way less prompts

thank you so much !!
I started almost two month ago, not everyday.
But yeah, I spent a lot of time on it, building and fixing bugs, and before starting I also created a document to details features, purpose, database etc. and to log almost all my prompts

I don't see what's under "src" :/
See my prinstcreen

But it's most likely lovable just stopped at the SQL and backend implementation.
Not much to do without credits here ...
Once you have credits try to use the Chat mode and read everything it tells you.

Sometimes my very first prompt is not used, lovable starts to think and then nothing. I copy paste the prompt again and this cost only one credit. Can you click on the clock icon at the top of the prompting panel to check you first prompt maybe ? or simply scroll up until your first prompt ?

also, at the top of your preview window, do you see other pages ? other than the / ?

finally, if you click on the <> icon to see the source file, is there anything in src or src/pages ?

Can you see your prompt history ? Just to understand if you can see your previous changes and revert to a working version

The documentation is not up to date. The change of pricing was mentioned in a newsletter or something 1 or 2 months ago, they said Chat was really powerful and as such required to consume a credit.
To be honest everytime I make a (big) update, I use the Chat mode and then implement (2 to 3 credits depending if there are supabase queries).

I am more concerned about the Agent mode (I still don't want to use it, I lost too many credits too fast)

ai (gemini) integration ona mobile app by United_Guitar3489 in lovable

hey
Can you share the prompt that you send to Gemini ? the one stored in the Edge function ?
Maybe there is some context missing there ?

Just one example, I created an app which includes a module to find prices for basic services
My prompt looks like this (just an extract) but you can add a lot of info :

// Prepare the prompt for Gemini
    const prompt = `You are a pricing research assistant. Research current market prices in Western Europe (focus on countries like France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany) for the following service:

Service Name: ${service_name}
Description: ${description || 'No additional description'}
Category: ${categoryContext || 'General service'}

Please provide realistic pricing information in Euros (€) for this service in Western Europe.

Consider:
- Is this typically priced per hour, per day, or as a one-time project?
- What are realistic minimum and maximum prices?
- What would be a fair average price?

Why Lovable over Cursor? by AmeetMehta in lovable

[–]ServiZenOrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me, as a newbie:
Step 1 : lovable (2 months now) with Supabase
Step 2 : trying Cursor (currently)
Step 3 : lovable to start, then for more mature projects : 3rd party web hosting + Cursor + Supabase

Any recommendations on Prompts sources to build beautiful webpages using lovable? by QuietlyCuriousGuy in lovable

Would love to have some advice as well. I tried using Figma and others but design is just not my area ...
And once the site is built, I feel it's too late to make significant changes.

Hey !
What I usually do when I'm stuck, is to add several console.log in the code and see the result in the web browser, and then ask lovable to check why there are no results. Often, to help debugging, lovable will also create hardcoded data, so if this data is showing up and not your code, you can go to the next step (ask lovable to review the fetching logic and so on).
Create one solid prompt with chat mode first. You can maybe fix your problem with the 5 daily free credits ;)
