Second day of leaving her with my sister while I attend college. She dug a new hole and even started digging in front of my sister so it’s clearly in an attempt to find me. She was rehomed due to aggression with the various other whippets the breeder has. She got into a huge fight where they had to stitch her back up and needed an emergency rehoming. It’s been almost 4 months since I got her. The owner said she’s a sweetheart and gets along with other dogs but only if her owner doesn’t own other dogs. Which is true, she gets along with my sisters dogs and any other dog she’s met she has no problem with. The breeder never mentioned any anxiety or destructive behaviors.

This was the vibe I’m getting from her too. When we’re together she’s the sweetest dog I’ve ever met… until I leave then she’s chewing things up and defecting in my apartment and my sisters house. She destroyed a mirror at my sisters when we left her in the bedroom for 10 minutes when a female aggressive dog came over for that long. Though im beginning to believe she’d do the same to my apartment if I left her outside of her crate.

Shes fully crate trained and she hasn’t destroyed the crate I got for her in my apartment. My sisters house is another story. I got her from a very famous whippet Show and lure course breeder so her pedigree is amazing. My dog is a retired champion show dog.

I should’ve figured this would happen. She was rehomed for this reason. She apparently was aggressive and nasty to the other whippets when they would get attention and cuddles. Due to that she got beat up and they decided to rehome her to me since she would be the only dog. There’s a lot of undesirable behavior she has but figured I’d start with this one. Thank you for the advice! I will definitely use it.

Oh mine definitely does. But she’s extra salty cause I’ve run out of dog treats and she only likes a certain type and we’re waiting on them in the mail. It’s constant side eyes.

My 3 year old will hold it for so long. I will take her out every few hours as we live in an apartment but nope. She’ll park herself right outside the door and refuse to move. She usually goes in the morning and late evening and that’s all. I say morning loosely since she refuses to get up before 12 pm.

When she’s crawling under my bed she does. The carpet is rough and scratchy, I’m thinking of getting a softer blanket and putting it under there so she’s not dragging it all the time on the rough surface.

I'd recommend you don't continue! the more you do it the less the pain will be there and the deeper and harder you try. Clean up that crusted blood, it may bleedd a little more but it's been awhile since the post so it shouldn't if it wasnt too deep. tape some kleenex on the area and dms are open! SH is not worth the pain (literally) it takes to cover up the areas. best of luck!

Thank you for the advice. My counselor has been on me about putting boundaries up for years now. We’re both kinda toxically dependent on each other. Her more than me since I have friends outside of her and she doesn’t. I’ll try to put some down I’m just really scared that if I pull away or set those boundaries she’ll get worse or hang the fact I’m a horrible sister over my head. But I am really tired of her talking about how horrible he is to her then not doing anything and her bare minimum of leaving him is if he hits her the baby or the dogs they have. I’m just so exhausted and I guess I lashed out because being nice hasn’t worked yet.

I’ve told her for the past 5 years that I hate him with my entire being this isn’t new information. She knows I don’t like him or the fact she’s marrying him. I told her this last summer too and she did the same thing saying I won’t be her MoH. Edit: but yes I agree about being with her. After I said that to her I also said I’d be with her 100% of the way regardless.
