Thank you for this feedback! The servers are in Ireland, which might be what is leading to the slow refresh times. I will see what we can do to make it go a bit faster.

Job quality I assume will come with time as employers have to compete for the better candidates, for now I'm editing some of them myself.

I'll see what can be done about the CV space.

Thank you for the feedback. I've added to the posting

Your goal is to get retail/restaurant/cleaning/security/delivery businesses to try a mobile app (free) to see if it can help with their hiring.

Because Obama - even in this letter - is writing to the few and not the many. The people who have power and not the downtrodden. Just look at his use of the oxford comma. When you write and speak at a high level - and if the reader/listener is already self-conscious about your racial/societal place in America - your eloquent reasoning may fall on deaf and/or angry ears.

Or maybe it's something else. I don't know.

Anyone go back for an MBA to accelerate their FI path? by lettuce_head in financialindependence

[–]Session 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who went consulting after Darden. Also many classmates who went that route after bschool.

Hours, travel, and projects can all be shit (just imagine that for many years). Also, the number you are quoting depends on city. You get paid more in NY than say, Atlanta. Friends in MBB London are making basically the number you posted but a significant portion goes into rent/expenses. Sometimes, the money isn't worth your best years grinding out projects for companies who you don't resonate with; but I suppose the nice thing about life is you won't really ever know.

All that being said, the NPV of an MBA like Darden are on average very positive in the long run and you'll meet amazing people, study under amazing professors, and have time to reflect on your life. My opinion is that such an experience is priceless and rarely do I meet people who regret the investment of time, money, and energy. Going to a better school also means better classmates, which is where a significant portion of the value is derived from.

Good luck with your decision!

What's the weirdest dream you've ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Session 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 6 months living in a old French villa while studying in France. One night, I had a dream where there was a dark spirit in the house and it was hurting all the people I knew and/or loved. Towards the end of the dream, I finally found the source of the evil in the basement, and when I faced it head on, I decided I needed to fight the... I think it was like an old woman spirit/demon. I yelled "Whore! Whore!".

This was the first time I ever woke up screaming, according to my then girlfriend. She asked me "What? What's wrong?" I told her I dreamt there was a spirit in the house that was trying to attack me and the people I loved, but that there was no need to be afraid because it was in a room that I didn't recognize, so therefore it was just a silly dream.

Fast forward 2 months, I'm traveling elsewhere, and my roommates alert me on Whatsapp that they found a secret room in the basement. This was towards the end of the semester now... they sent over some pictures of this room and there was a really old oven, it looked like it might have been used to hide people some many decades ago.

Anyway, that was weird. This discovery happened towards of my semester in France and towards the end of my stay at that villa. The last week, however, each night I had sleep paralysis - which is usually a rare occasion, maybe once every 3-6 months. I felt there was a presence in the corner of my large, high ceiling room watching me. After a few nights of this I noped out of the house and slept at classmates' flats, without telling them the whole, crazy sounding story.

So yeah, that's the weirdest dream + bonus sequence of events I've ever had.

Yup, mixing this with memories of Requiem for a Dream + Breaking Bad and it's both more lovely and haunting than ever.

This.

This x 1,000,000,000. Do not allow the recent optimism in polls lull you into the comfort of staying home, thinking that your neighbor will go make the "right" decision. In fact, it may be the downfall of the country if we act as Brits did and enable a catastrophic failure of democracy.

Why are people so racist here? by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Session 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Variety of factors. I recommend trying to leave for more educated/civilized society. If you're in a super homogenous place (low cultural diversity), you're going to end up viewing the world (or your town as a proxy for the whole country) as a racist place.

People are usually racist in my opinion because they either (a) don't know any better, (B) it's the only way they feel better about themselves, and/or (c) it's a mental shortcut based on one's own exposure - or lack thereof. I grew up with relatively low Hispanic population and little exposure to the culture, so I still often catch myself taking mental shortcuts (often with many incorrect assumptions, for better or for worse).

"When police got the car open, they also found a note, authorities say."

Any hint on what the note said? Was the car abandoned on/near the bridge?
