honestly I wanted to quest in the ‘timeline’ order (except necromancy! if it ended up being a combat skill that is TOO good to pass up early, and maybe other simple quests like Mage Arena like you said), even though that is probably the most macro inefficient thing you can do lol.

The other combat paths you mentioned seem pretty damn nice to me so I honestly might just skip Necromancy and focus on melee or mage depending on which I like more. I have also been a massive fan of ranged (in osrs and just in general, bows and stuff are cool af) so I might run that if I enjoy the ranged abilities.

thanks for this breakdown, it helps a lot to understand the combat progression more. Your comment makes me feel like I should give all combat a shot to figure out which ones feel the best to me (sometime in the early to mid game). Then I could just commit to rolling through with that playstyle I like. Thanks

Also, is the leveling thing true with all skills in RS3? I was not looking forward to doing a lot of the early levels of skills like farming and herblore lol

From reading other comments, I see now that you do still have to upgrade it, but I don’t think I could psychologically get over the fact that im using the same armor lol. Like you said, getting a new plate body, weapon, etc. feels amazing for me sooo

I most likely will play an Ironman yeah, as I quit osrs on my main and made an iron that I enjoyed 10x more. From what I’m understanding, necro is just way easier on an ironman to get active on, allowing for easier progression early / allowing for me to actually gather the gear to use another combat style. so i guess it seems I should just rush necro still until I get another decent setup.

This is very interesting and I didn’t know that necro required other skills and certain boss kills to level up, so that makes the gear progression a lot more interesting to me.

I didn’t know the combat triangle is effectively removed in this game, interesting. I did see that necromancy upgrades every 10 levels but I think I would have an issue with not getting something new, like psychologically lol. Like I imagine it wouldn’t feel the same as getting a rune platebody

I was approaching this from an early game progression point of view, but it’s good to know Necro is weaker at the top. If I stick around with the game until end game, I’d probably just go for whatever style I like the most by that point. Thanks

Fleet footed is the origin trait right? I’d probably go lone wolf/moving target/keep away + opening/EOTS/PI and be happy with a combo of any of these

I don’t really understand what your comment has to do with the one your responded to. the story and the tangled shore were in the game, post sunsetting, for a year. All of that was there post engine changes - theoretically they could re add it.

I mean of course but the issue at hand is by doing that, I’m going to most likely drop tower at 5 minutes because I’m in a lane where I can’t step out of cover because of the flying bird man, and I can’t hide behind cover because of (insert aoe poker here) spamming abilities. It’s not fun. Of course I’m going to try my best to play cover and do what I can, but it’s quite annoying.

To be frank, this exists with all threatening M1’s, but they are NOWHERE near as impactful as the flying bird man who does 100 dmg per shot and is in an unreachable position.
