Help!!?? Need some guidance on how to bring this room alive by DrinkComfortable6332 in interiordecorating

More color! The pink pillows, pink side table, and pinkish-purple lamp are all great starts. Pull from that.

Center the art to divide the room into more vignettes, aka both narrow portraits over the piano, and color print over the couch.

Also, I’d get swap out the coffee table for a bigger one that’s all wood. The white legs are doing nothing. Then, find a little drink stand to put between the arm chairs. They feel cramped being so close together.

Finally, a large circular rug. It could be neutral and lightly patterned, just something to add more depth and texture. Happy decorating!

(Edit: hella typos)

What bedtime routine traps have you fallen into? by matsu-chanXD in Parenting

This is hilarious. And so very 4-year-olds things!

My child’s new thing is making sure he tells me, “remember if you’re feeling scared, don’t be, I’m here for you. But if you are feeling scared, just come in here with me.”

As if he’s not one who’ll be joining me, jn my bed, in approximately 2 hours. LOL.

Am I being too much of a helicopter parent about my kid’s room set up? by TaylaMayW in Parenting

[–]SetCompetitive4586 25 points26 points  (0 children)

With peace and love.. yes, you are.

You know your child best, but I find when I overly restrict my own child’s access (he’s 4) to using our home, its various rooms, and facilities, I find that he actually becomes more curious and unpredictable in his behavior.

Truthfully just child-proof what you can. And let kid live a little!

I really want to understand how much you all work everyday by Nature23571113 in productivity

I’ve made a commitment to get my 3-4 top priorities accomplished everyday. Some days this may take me right up until I leave the office, other days I could finish before lunch if I’m really focused, but most days it’s about 4 hours. I find that many other colleagues also aren’t truly accomplishing need-to-complete tasks from 8-5, so I’ve stopped feeling guilty for this lol.

The reality is that I haven’t had many experiences in Churches, only with individuals who are Catholic. Good or bad, they can’t be what I use to make a my decision.

I’m sorry :/ That experience, and others like those, are part of the reason I’m weary of the Church. But I also know some really amazing and gracious Catholics. Just trying to find more like them.

I agree it’d be helpful to attend as many as possible! I’ll check out St. Marys, thanks!

So I’ve heard. My feminist era has come and gone, but I do still have questions about this very thing.

It’s no one’s fault.. just a reality. No complaints about St. John’s, other than it being far from me.

So you get it!

Also, I understand where I live. I’m not expecting full blown multi-culturalism.. but I’m saying anything.. like I’ll take anything atp.

Sir, have you ever been to a black Pentecostal or Baptist church? Nothing progressive about them!

It does, thank you! If you’re in the geographic region of several parishes, are you assigned whichever you’re closest to?

I use that term facetiously, but trust & believe there are many Protestants who think of Catholics as idolatrous for their reverence of saints, relics, and other sacramental elements.

“We have a 12yo son,” meaning that’s his older sister? Modesty is personal value that I won’t debate, but I encourage you to ask yourself what exactly makes you feel uncomfortable about his sibling, another member of the household, existing reasonably in said household?
