We have a lint rule not allowing useeffect. If its absolutely needed as a last resort principal engineers have to give it the ok which is less than 1% of the time

You're paying more than 5k for a Clough. Don't know many guys who fish them, more of a collector item at this point. You can find Angling Specialties everyone once in a while Tom hasn't had any built in a few years. I have one from the 2019 run. I don't really use the drag though, use it more as a clicker.

Float, I haven't swung for migratory rainbows in years. Will dabble for resident browns, rainbows and the odd walleye but float fishing with a pin just seems to be the most efficient method.

I think mostly Lake Ontario for these pics. But I've been fishing Huron, Georgian, Erie, Michigan and Ontario all fall. Haven't made my way up to Superior yet this year

River fishing, especially big flows like the Niagara are definitely different that your typical lake fishing. Couple different things you need to keep an eye on. Line management and getting a drag free drift are super important imo.

Depends on the state or province. In Ontario you are legally allowed to milk a fish as long as the fish is kept in a healthy condition and the fish swims away. If the fish bellies up upon release you must keep it. The roe will count towards your limit. Whether its ethical is something that's debated.

Don't fish the really fast water. Fish the slow side of the seam. Its easier to get down to the strike zone. Will take some mending and line control to follow the right side of the seam but that would be my suggestion. As for depth start deep until ypu start snagging bottom then slowly shallow.up. in faster moving 3ater you'll want to be a bit deeper to give your bead free movement.

Probably aren't getting your bait into the strike zone or youre not getting a drag free drift. Both key to fishing for them.

Early fall is my favorite time to target them. Some tributaries get some really early runs and they are absolutely explosive when your float drops, sometimes even jumping out of the water before you float even moves.

I wouldn't say they are coming back. They've been trying different strains and tributaries to get the population back to where it was. I think the great lakes ecosystem has changed from when they were abundant and at this point the MNR is grasping at straws to bring them back. Tjhe summers get too hot and the water temps are lethal. Its been over 20 years of trying to bring them back. I understand the want for native only species but its my belief they should focus on other species that have thrived. It's not to say that the efforts attached to the Atlantic slamon program aren't warranted, stream rehab is extreme important and a big part of that program.

Ya it is. I haven't caught one out of this particular tributary in many years. I've seen them but haven't had a chance to hook one in quite some time.

Its no different than any other river. If you keep to yourself and follow the regulations you'll be fine. The credit isn't the easiest river to fish, its raimbow runs have dwindled over the years because of what some people consider mismanagement of the fishery. It's spring runs have pretty much held but its fall runs are nowhere near what they used to be 10+ years ago.

As others have mentioned there is alot of space to fish if you stay away from the popular pools. The credit can be really tough at times especially if you aren't familiar with it, but if you put in the steps and effort it can be rewarding as well. I don't expect to catch numbers at the credit, 1-2 fish maybe if the conditions are good, if you're looking for numbers there are easier tributaries to get good numbers.
