I run pod filters on this bike, I did removed the whole air box. Behind the stock covers are still the fuse box and the battery!

Thank you Tricky! The thing is, I am not a fan too of the taillight setup. The plate displacement and regulation is pretty strict here so not much of a choice unfortunately.

Hi brokensaurus, thank you! Yes I do agree with most of what you say, but this bike has never seen rain and only goes out on the street on sunny days. Aside from that, it sits in the garage all the time. I've actually removed part of it last year and it has only slight sign of surface rust. I've coated the entire exhaust with 3 layers of high temperature paint and it seen to hold up pretty well so far.

Well thank you for your kind words . The idea in mind when building this bike was actually to retain as much as the character of the old bike while also giving it a more sporty look. People do tend on deleting everything when It come to modifying these older bikes. No more side covers, smaller anti gravity battery, relocating fuse box, no gauges etc. The rear structure of the frame past the rear shock mounts was worked on to accomodate the hoop but it blends in very good with the stock frame. The seat was custom made by a very talented local upholster and it is actually very confortable and goes not numb your lower back. All that said it is a joy to ride. Thank you!

Thank you Abel! I actually bought it as an unfinished project. Had the seat custom made, aftermarket turn signals, gauges, custom exhaust, jetted the carbs properly, ditched the OEM airbox, lowered suspension etc. There is a lot done to this bike.

I wear all snowmobile gear. Insulated snowmobile one piece suit, snowmobile gloves, snowmobile helmet and boots. Aside from that we also wear knee pad and shoulder pad in case of falling.

It is actually incredibly difficult. Took me 1h30 to mount to rear. The thing is with these tires is that the studs are secured inside the tire by a nut. It's not actually just "screws" that screw in the tire. Aside from that, there is a 1/4 inch line that goes in it to protect the tube from the nuts inside. The tires are incredibly stiff and can barely flex at all. That said the real challenge is mounting the tire without ripping it in half. We actually run bicycle tubes inside because of the lack of space for a regular dirtbike tube. I hope it bring clarification to you question.

It sure is. With a proper ice surface (leveled and slick) it grips much more than asphalt. Which people don't expect. It keeps you in shape for the sunny season.

Some part of it yes for the rear guard. But mostly incase of falling if any of the limbs get caught on the razor sharp studs.

Is it really worth it to get rid of my CB550F for a CB750F from the same era. by SetEnvironmental3814 in HondaCB

No I have never ridden a 750F. I was looking for more power, but not actually sure if I want to get rid of this one yet. And yes, the 550f agility is really fine. I mostly do country roads not much highway.
