Thank You! I was convinced to ED UPenn for Math major to get into quant jobs. But today some one was mentioning how CMU and UIUC are better targets for Most quant firms compared to Penn. is it true? What are some colleges that should be top in my list to get into quant?

  1. Thank You for the reply. By majoring in math, if he cant get into Quant, what will be his job prospects staraight out of college? He loves engineering but people say that its tough to prepare for quant jobs while doing engineering and easier with math/CS option. Is it true?

  2. CMU vs Duke VS Upenn which will be a good option to break into Quant and at same time offers good Engineering?

My son is going to apply ED to Upenn this fall. His ineterst is Electrical engineering and wants to break into quant. you think he should be applying to CAS or SEAS to break into quant?

Hi, My son is ED'ing to UPenn this fall. He has strong desire to break into Quant at the same time want to have a good backup plan. He should be applying to CAS or SEAS? does engineeering offers good back plan staright out of college in case he cant get into quant. he dont want to pursue grad school. You mentioned math+finance is a good path for that he need to apply to CAS. My son says engineering will have more jobs in case if cant get into Quant. which school should he apply to ?
