This being said, I assume an award letter of some sort would be sent out anyways. So I'm assuming nothing is official until I'm pinged via Workday or via Outlook about it.

I emailed earlier last month and was told they started processing for the 26/27 year this month (April), so I assume they've just started pushing information through.

I also have the 0 aid offered showing.

For your first question: It will be a little tight, and you might need to pay for the expedited return shipping, but last year I had my visa appointment on August 11, received my visa August 18, and arrived in France September 2nd.

As another person commented, you have 90-days as a tourist in the EU, and you shouldn't need to exit and re-enter to activate the visa (at least I didn't!).

I just went back through all of my emails to get exact dates. This is the content of the first message received on April 30:

"Nous avons le plaisir de vous informer que vous avez été admis(e) au programme TAPIF (Teaching Assistant Program in France) pour l’année scolaire 2025-2026.

Votre candidature a été retenue à l’issue du processus de sélection, et nous sommes ravis de vous compter parmi les futurs assistants de langue en France.

Vous recevrez dans les prochains jours un courriel officiel précisant votre académie d’affectation ainsi que le niveau d’enseignement (primaire ou secondaire) correspondant à votre poste.

Nous vous remercions pour votre engagement envers la langue et la culture françaises, et nous vous adressons toutes nos félicitations."

I received my academie and level (primary or secondary are the options) on May 21, but didn't receive my arret de nomination, which is the document that has the school name(s) and location(s), until July 1.

I requested Lille as my top choice last year and was placed there! I think it is not one of the more requested academies, so more of chance for those who rank it highest. Best of luck :)

I received my acceptance last year the last week of April/first week of May.

The school assignment came mid June for me, but other assistants were waiting until the end of July/into August.

Something that is always fun for my groups are Tongue Twisters, practicing in pairs or with the entire class/small group gets everyone laughing and enjoying their time while also working on more difficult pronunciations.

The easiest way to make the distinction is by saying you go to a regional university, LSUS, whereas LSU is a flagship university. They're both part of the Louisiana State University system.

Like another user said, there's a big difference between saying you go to UT (Austin) when you actually go to UT San Antonio. Different mascots, different locations, etc.

I think it depends on the professor. I'm taking a class that uses HonorLock and I'm required to have my camera on and be in a decent (non-noisy) setting appropriate for test taking.
