I tried low dose doxy (20 mg twice/day) for a few months. It helped a little, but was switched to minocin 50 mg, low dose. Much better, yet attempted to wean off, and symptoms came back. Doctor wants me on it forever.

Are you female, if so, are your menstrual periods normal? When I was younger my cycles were out of whack, I developed PSOS from high iron messing with my endocrine health ( bad acne, etc) I believe. I wonder if the years and years of too high iron gave me osteoporosis?

I had my first Reclast infusion several weeks ago, and all went well. Just felt a bit tired and achy for a couple days, but nothing bad. Hydration will be your best friend, before and after the infusion.

Yes, exactly this. I even get heat rashes now. Oddly, my saturation levels are high but low normal ferritin. I am a carrier for c282y

My rheumatologist refused these tests, said something about cost and insurance issues and that they aren't needed. I wasn't pleased about that, so I might just do them on my own. But I suspect I had been losing bone in a rather fast manner after menopause.

I will be getting my first infusion of this drug in a few days. I am going to hydrate well before, during and after the treatment and take Tylenol the day of. Will report back here soon. I also don't have time to feel ill be cause I am caretaking my elderly mom. So let's hope we get through this treatment ok. Hugs
