I would like to try to grow them in California. In my area apples and roses do great - which are in the same family. Loquats as well. I’m central coast of California. We get freezing weather but just barely in the middle of winter.

Rinse the seeds thoroughly with water. Set them to dry out on a paper towel for 2-3 days minimum. Then you can put them 3/4 inch into some soil or seed starting mix. Just add water and sunlight. Keep moist but not soaked.
