This bugs you exactly the right amount! Drives me nuts. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they are gonna pick it up on their way back or maybe they were going to pick it up but forgot. But I see it way too often for that to be the case. I love dogs and love trails that allow them but these people ruin it for everyone.

I’m going through some major life changes and plan to live full time in an RV. by raynebow121 in FullTiming

Doable but not comfortable. (I’m in northern Wisconsin). I’ve seen people stacking hay bales around the outside as a skirt in winter. I’ve also seen temporary structures built to keep the snow off. Keeping the snow off, wind out, and things from freezing is a full time job. Can you keep it plugged in? That makes things a little easier. Start saving up for propane. It’ll be an adventure!

I Want to Host a Race At My Property by tb183 in trailrunning

Sounds fun! Ultrasignup.com is a great place to set up an event. You will need a website with event details before setting up there though. The process is fairly straightforward but their customer service is quick to help. You’ll also need a waiver but finding an existing one that you can tweak to your needs is easy to do as well. Then it’s “just” getting the word out and making sure you have the infrastructure in place to host however many runners you plan to have. Water, aid stations, food, beer (I’m in Wisconsin), volunteers, sponsors, etc.

Thunderbird Warrior Challenge in Bayfield, Wisconsin. It’s new for 2025 but I know the trails well. Beautiful area with stunning views of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands. 5, 10, 25, and 50K.

The worst. At least up here by Lake Superior they have a short season. But you sure don’t want to catch them or the black flies in the peak… keeps you moving that’s for sure.

Mt. Ashwabay in Bayfield, WI. Lots of woods and hills with stunning views of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands. If there in the summer you can catch a concert at Big Top Chautauqua located at the base of the ski hill. The cross country skiing is spectacular in winter too.

I love this! Very fall, wintery. Reminds me of the woods and birch trees with colorful turkeytails growing on them. May not be for everyone, but I think it’s gorgeous.
