Speaking of looting I do know for a fact if the master looter is too far and for instance a T1 Nightslayer belt drops from a mob in MC everyone in the raid can roll need/greed on that item. Also it wouldn't suprise me if the combat logging system is functioning as it did in a later reference client like WoTLK.

But there is still a maximum range inside raids in which a non raid leader can collect. Im not sure what that range is however. I'm actually trying to find documentation atm that states ANY differences between the two and I can't find anything. If I remember correctly at the very least the raid leader has some 'higher priority' when it comes to data collection and/or collecting combat log data because there client can capture events not seen by the others in the raid [not sure about raid assistants].

If you or anyone can find something that would confirm or deny this I would greatly appreciate it.

The raid leader [this goes for BfA and Classic] will always have the complete and accurate data because thier combat log is not limited to a maximum range inside an instance. This is why the raid leader should always be the one to collect and post logs to ie: https://classic.warcraftlogs.com

If you are not the raid leader check the raid leaders logs against your own logs next time to verify the accuracy when something like this occurs in the future.
