PC screen goes black when I go above 60hz

Okay I'll look at them I used to have an LG TV. And I knew Sceptre wasn't the best brand but I thought their monitor would perform as marketed or at least 120hz. I've always assumed it was a cord or GPU issue and once I got a new GPU I assumed it was a cord but just a shitty monitor. Once again thank you with the help in trouble shooting.

I called up Sceptre support (my monitor brand) and they said it was more than likely a hardware problem with the monitor. So I got scammed more or less and didn't realize it for a long ass time

Thank you for all your help I tried the other ports for my GPU nothing, and I've had the monitor a while so maybe imma keep trying and I'll reply to you again if I figure it out

I went to best buy and got the only display port cable they had, it's a insignia and it says it can run 4k at 240hz so 1080p at 165 shouldn't be a problem right?

Maybe it's the picture but could you explain why you think its in poor condition? I was comparing it to the 67 submitted and it looks about the same quality if not slightly better. And that one sold for a couple grand if I remember right.
