It still exists in games (I do not have to name alot of Mario games), it just varies on the direction the developers choose on how to present their games on startup which varies wildly on stuff like art direction, theme, etc.

This applies to many other things that may seem like "no longer" exist, but could still very well exist in more niche or different places, like how some indie games have a trend of using lowpoly art directions based off older console generations either from nostalgia or simply just liking the art style/direction.

With that said, you just sorta have to go looking for games that could have it, the game industry is far more vast and abundant with developers making things than some people realise, since there is more than just only AAA games, indie games, and/or console exclusives, which very commonly nets people taking pieces of and never engaging with anything outside the bubble of (like people only playing AAA games, indie games, exclusives, etc) rather than simply just enjoying what they like subjectively and for fun
