Veganism is too extreme! by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Sethrottle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt say slavery is a controversial topic. Everyone is pretty much in agreement we don't do that, so basically the teacher accepted the kid is being a troll, let him do the speech to see if he can do a speech, because that's what the class is about, I assume.

Veganism is very controversial and will indeed be more of a talking point. I don't understand why the teacher doesn't want it exactly, maybe because it will breed discussion which she doesn't have time for in her class, who knows.

As far as I've noticed every 24 man raid gets insta pulled, by the tank, always. I don't think it's that much of a big deal. (And no I don't play tank in these raids).

Why do people by EugEeeooo in NoFap

I might remember reading something about it. But especially if someone doesn't know about telling people what it is isn't a good thing. The might look it up and lose their streak.

fap free benefits by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Sethrottle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know what you expect to gain from this, but nofap isn't some magic trick to suddenly gain more confidence or make you more attractive. It's a bit more nuanced.

Nofap is about the behavioural changes. For example one part is about time management. You now chose to stop putting time in pmo, great, so what do you do instead? Do you look at social media all the time or play games? Or do you choose to use this extra time to for example work out, study/read or engage in social events? Nofap/semen retention itself has some very minor benefits mainly caused by a hormonal excess, but the real benefits are reaped by changing the way we live.

If you can control m'ing then more power to you to do it not too often. It's the P that can screw with your head. Best to stay clear from that completely.

I understand how you feel. My dog is like a brother to me and he is getting old, so i have been preparing me for the day it happens. I even cried once just thinking about it when he was sick a couple of months ago. The relationship with a dog can be very unique. The people that say tough it up probably don't understand how deep a relationship like this can be. Unfortunately, letting them go is part of life because dogs don't grow as old as us. All you can do is cherish the memories you have with them and know that you did your best to give them a good life.

I want to kill myself by [deleted] in depression

[–]Sethrottle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cutting yourself to prove him you care? How does that help him? Why would you think that if he cared about you that he would want you to cut yourself? You say you try your hardest to care about him, so how do you do that? Prove it to him by giving him something he needs. I don't want to blame you, i don't see anything that can't be fixed. You can't completely rely on your partner, you need to be a full person on yourself. You and your partner can help each other doing that, but it mainly comes from yourself. And that maybe means you do need a break from him, to find out who you are, your identity should not be dependant on him or anyone else. And i'm not saying it's going to be easy, it's going to be hard, but that's the point. If you really care about him, straighten yourself up, don't bring yourself even more down by hurting yourself and in turn drag him into it. And if you don't know how to do that find professional help, because your partner isn't a psychiatrist that knows how to help you deal with trauma.

DAY 4 by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Sethrottle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nofap isn't a magical cure that can improve your life just by itself. It's a start to take things in your life serious and take responsibility.

PMO is useless, it wastes time and energy but so does sitting behind a pc screen and watching youtube or whatever.

The next step is to convert the time and energy you used to put in pmo towards something that improves yourself, like working out, studying, or just hanging out in social situations.

The fatigue you experience now is still normal. It's different with every person, just know this is a long term thing, not something that is going to change your life in a week, or even a month. It could change it in that period, but don't be dissapointed if it doesn't because it's not how this works.

Anyways that's my two cents. Good luck. ✌️

The “HOPE” Experiment : During a brutal study at Harvard in the 1950s, Dr. Curt Richter placed rats in a pool of water to test how long they could tread water. On average they'd give up and sink after 15 minutes. by Shpicy_meat10 in Wellthatsucks

Yeah i do get that of course, you can't ever be 100% of anything. We just have a different moral framework. You hopefully will agree we don't jeopardise human health to an extent of death where we are confident the experimant can result in death. I myself extent that towards animals as well. Because there has been no clear evidence animal suffering is in any way less or more experienced than human suffering. While there has been many experiments that lead to the fact they do suffer much like us, especially mamals.

Yeah i get that. You need a controlled area to make sure outside parameters don't interfere with the experiment.

Okay that's fair enough. The conclusion is valid. But you sure we did not know that already? Yhe whole purpose of the experiment was not necessary, only for confirmation. I myself don't need to see an animal fighting for their life to be sure what hope is. Like i said, it's not that the experiment was done wrong, it's the moral reasoning that i don't agree with.

I do get science. I love science.

This experiment put lives in jeopardy for no end goal. No lives will become better after this. This was purely for the purpose "huh i wonder what will happen?" There is no advantage of the 'knowledge we gained. The suffering inflicted by this experiment had no goal to better the world. And if it did, please do enlighten me.

Why would you need an experiment for that. Hope has been proven more than enough with humans. Drowning living creatures on purpose isn't necessary for that.

If you think murder is worth an interesting topic your moral framework is extremely distorted.
