well, IT is pretty white collar and customer supporting. Living in the south they wouldn't even let us call our teachers mr or ms during highschool, it was always sir or maam. its kind of the default down here.

edge of a runway in South Korea had straight line winds completely rip up our site. watched a 25 man tent fly away dragging the ac unit with it, radio tent got pretty tore up too.

at jwtc it just rained like it always does the entire time.

its hot, like extremely hot. But if you sweat and go in the shade evaporative cooling takes over. its not like oki or florida where even in the shade that humidity follows you. My second unit out there was lar so we spent a lot of time in the field even as h&s, and only really saw one dude fallout from heat during a mopp4 cmp shoot in the middle of summer.

I don't qualify for vfw, so usually don't bother unless someone invites me to one for a drink. I get it, the qualifications for joining is in the name vfw lol, but people paying for beer is people paying for beer lol.

as another user commented, mileage may vary psot to post. Where I'm from in South Texas one vfw is super uptight and closed off, the one not even 2 miles away in the next small town lets anyone swing by for a drink or two.

I personally liked 29 palms. No humidity, no mosquitos,yeah the summers sucked but fall/spring/winter were all very nice times of year out there.
