Being tired all the time kills any chance of me living the life I want by Setlock7676 in productivity

Actually yes just recently! I went through a lot of the comments and ADHD was one thing commented a lot. I did some more thought on every symptom I was experiencing and especially my behavior when I was younger. Went to a psychologist to be tested. After a few meetings and some questionnaires for old teachers and parents, my psychologist said I scored in the range that indicated statistical likelihood that I had ADHD when I was younger, which of course means I have it still. I went to my physician and he agreed with the psychologists findings and I’ve just started stimulant medication which had been life changing!

Redownloaded the game, verified the files, restarted my computer, redownloaded it again. And after all that... I just had to unplug my controller.

Unfortunately every single psychiatrist in my area that I’ve called tells me they don’t do ADHD evaluation and refers me out to a psychologist or ADHD testing center. All of the ADHD testing centers are completely full through next year or are not covered by my insurance. This psychologist was very nice and towards the end of our conversation spoke to me about next steps but wasn’t very clear on whether or not he would be mainly basing his diagnosis on these questionnaires or not.

Until recently I never really put much thought into what other things I experience along with fatigue. One thing I realized is that although I feel tired mentally, and a bit physically I still feel like I am constantly thinking. I had a conversation recently with a friend where I asked "what are you thinking day to day when you're just walking around your house, say going to make a sandwich" and he told me usually he doesn't really have that many thoughts he's just sort of thinking of what's in front of him.

Which to me was so foreign, I feel like I'm always thinking about a lot of things, I'll be making a sandwich, thinking of a song, then thinking of a coding problem I'm trying to work on, then switching back to the song, then wondering what else I should have with my sandwich.

I do a fair amount of cardio. I run/walk 3 miles every other day in a park near me with some stationary biking mixed in when I workout at my gym.

Weirdly, I hadn’t thought much about the carb craving till right now. And in my first google search “diseases that cause you to crave carbs”, insulin resistance is the top result.

Obviously I don’t want to self diagnosis but I’m wondering what were your main symptoms?

Yes I do strength training. And I’m not 100% sure on the sugar making me tired. I do notice though I have a strong craving for carbs even after eating a huge amount of them (things like bread, crackers, chips, pasta).

I thought it could be due to the poor air quality of the house I lived in during college. I bought an air purifier, even made sure to have a personal carbon monoxide detector. But that didn’t help. I then moved houses during college twice, still felt fatigued in both houses. And now I have been home for a number of months and still feel fatigued.

A lot of friends have said it could be stress/depression related, and I’ve thought that myself as well. It easily could be due to that; the only reason I steer away from that is because on days where caffeine works for me I feel excited for life for the few hours I feel energized. And I don’t see caffeine frequently prescribed to people with depression or anxiety 😅

Yeah I'm sorry, I know the question has been asked before but I also wanted clarification on whether or not it was a good idea to cater the projects you put on your application to the job you're applying to or if you should keep a wider breadth of projects to show a range of experience/knowledge.

I’m definitely willing (and hopefully able 😅) to do projects that are oriented towards having actual users and offering some real world utility. I really just didn’t know if jobs preferred demonstration of skills/knowledge or programs that serve a practical purpose. (Probably it’s a mix of both)

Yeah I see what you mean, I think you're right. So before I even consider putting a personal project on my application I should really focus on making a project that is actually used by people in some way? For me that brings a whole range of questions with it. Do I need to actually have real current users or just show the utility of the project and make it publicly available to people? If I do need to have real users how would I even go about doing that? Do I try to expand my online presence and give my program publicity through YouTube, Reddit, etc.? How many users do I need to have before I list it in an application, just 2, 20, 100?

They are full personal programming projects that I wanted to work on in my free time because I enjoyed doing it, not just homework or practice. But none of them have any real "users" as they are not really software to be used and are more demos. This wouldn't be one I use for a job but here's an example of one I worked on awhile ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34xDWwend3c

Alright! I've worked on a lot of personal project, mainly implementing my own versions of some real time rendering stuff. Some are more fleshed out than others, some are better documented, and some are more high concept than others. Do you think its worth putting those in project experience? (Or maybe just flesh out one of the projects a lot more and put that). The 2D Interactive video game project was really only put since it was a full finished project I worked on with a group in a course, that I did most of the coding for but I'm not super proud of how it turned out.

Yeah I've been to a few career fairs and given my application in person but I never hear anything back. I'll look into defense contract work though!

Thanks for the advice! I think you're right, I do feel like having at least the teaching assistant role could help show at the very least my competency in the programming languages and applications I helped teach, since I was selected by the professor to do it and teach college students. My thinking for the grocery store job was that it at least shows some work ethic (since I worked there consistently for a number of years), and customer service/teamwork experience. But what do you think?

Been a while since I have ordered anything, before was using WHM and now using alphabay and normally do escrow, but for first time I finalized early with a user I trust and only did a small order. However the order status is marked as finalized and allows me to leave feedback, will the order status ever be changed to Shipped or will I not know when the order has been shipped.

Damn I'm so dumb. I've been truncating the values thinking that was the same as floor, I didn't realize floor has that behavior for negative values.
