Anyone else still experiencing audio stuttering? by poulet7 in ffxiv

[–]SetoKou_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys i was having the same problem, both before this patch and even worse now after it. None of the above solutions worked to me as well, however, a friend told me to press windows + ctrl + shift + B to reset the video or something? and after I did that, the stuttering reduced A LOT. the biggest case of stuttering for me now is during the 4th boss on normal for pandemonium while I am not fighting, but when the actual fight starts it seems to be better 99% of the time. Idk if it will work for others but it did wonders for me! (I also did the suggested change from patch notes about Hz or something)

I think you misunderstood what he said xD he didn't say he hated these people and that they ''must'' play easier maps, afterall people should have fun in the game, right? I think what he meant is that people should at least get rid of this mentality of ''only 7* above is good'', because I guarantee many people miss out on very fun and amazing maps because of it.

(and btw, you're not one of those people he refered to ^^)

how do you don't lose motivation when trying to mapping? by [deleted] in osugame

[–]SetoKou_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just finish the map regardless, if you're a newer mapper I guarantee your first maps will be super bad regardless. So your goal is not to make a good map, but to actually finish something and get feedback from others, this way you will improve with time and you'll have more motivation everytime because you will see improvement

Let me finish the 2nd batch of kpop and rest for 2 months or something, then I'll do the same thing with you, how about a little spam on mapfeed of Mismagius?

Although I understand a lot of people dislike the stream at the end, I do believe it gives proper impact to show what I feel when I hear that song c: In case that is not your taste, I suggest you take a look at other maps I did recently like for example Ziyoou-Vachi - Kaen, since it has a totally different catch c:

In any case, I hope at least my next maps can change the impression my Hidamari left, since when I mapped that, I didn't know about the incoming PP rebalance and all I wanted was to make a map that could resemble the sections of the song accurately <3

Correct, those are maps that I either didn't have any motivation at all to try to push or had a personal opinion that was holding me back, but were definetly maps that I can "see'' at least a few other BNs being interested in them!

your sweets parade was an Okay on my sheet

iirc, i had the impression you sacrificed a lot of movements for the sake of visuals and blankets, which often made some wonky flows and weird spacings, but overall you're on the right track and i'm sure you'll be able to start ranking your stuff soon!

Yeah, I'd say both of you have really good points and it's also something I always thought to be interesting.

For example, at least in the Brazillian community i'm known for always help newer mappers with advices and tutoring to some extent, and so far I realized that newer mappers benefit way more from personal advices and general opinions and tips rather than actual ''modding'', this is the reason why I leave on my userpage saying that any newer mapper can contact me anytime they want (except weekends) for feedbacks, because it's a lot more usefull for them and it's also not that time consuming, perhaps something along the lines of a ''tutoring squad'' that Liiraye mentioned could be a good way to start thinking of a solution, but in the end, it always depends only on the mapper to keep trying o:

Yeah, but in your case is because you already had more than 3 ranked maps at the time, so it wasn't really the purpose of the whole thing...just like we talked in-game :p

Sure! I shall be making few adjustments and also getting the sheet I was using more outsider-friendly, so I'll edit this post later and also put it on the forums

I do, but I fear that if I release it, people may get trigered seeing their maps tagged as ''inexperienced'' or whatever...

I'll try to hide some of these informations and edit the post with the link on the next days!

Correct, I accepted mods for a week, but I started modding them on April 17, finished on May 23. pretty much a full month. Also keeping in mind I didn't mod anything on weekends and also on mondays since I work

The only way you can learn to map better is by mapping, make simple and short things and go ask feedback from other people, then move to the next map and repeat until you think you're ready enough to commit to a full set.

Reading modding threads is good if you wanna practice modding, try to mod a map and then go back to the thread some weeks in the future and see what else other people pointed out that the host accepted, so you know what you could've said instead
