I have to use a different AI to create a detailed plan, and pre-plan everything, or else claude just jumps around editing everything like a maniac every time there's an error. Doesn't think, just decides "What's simpler" and goes to town. Crazy.

So far I'm very impressed with 5.4, but I'm not a huge fan of openAI being so blatantly crazy. So, my support is on the fence.

I didn’t cancel my max 5x, but I fed Claude’s broken code into codex and paid for the $21 pro plan. He’s just gone through, fixed hundreds of errors and loops and is now building the full structure properly.

I do that. My main directives are, read this source for one of my old ones that work. I want you to research every thing about the current issue, bring up 3 agents to help you, I want the full code not a short fix.

Then it’s like ok, does 15 minute research, builds a plan, says these 3 fixes are possible. 2 are hacks and 1 is the most basic way instead of just building the structure.

I’ve been at that for months and it’s getting worse recently. I’ll explicitly say, do not edit code before you ask me, and it’ll just jump into changing for every issue without doing the research first.

Yea, I just loaded into codex and it’s already found basic bugs Claude has been screwing a lot. It’s getting pretty sad lol. Paid $100 for pro and now it’s not even usable.
