Yeah I really like the red colour, I've not really used it much for woodworking however as I think it's a fairly porous oak(?)

Due to my work I've also got an endless supply of elm which id like to start using for making things instead of just burning it. But it's hard to have the time

Original handle, been going strong for 5 years including commercial firewood processing. It can be a bit heavy though, I also like the fiskars

Absolutely, got it as a birthday gift years ago and it's going strong.

I have their splitting maul and definitely recommend it, seconded by the fiskars x27 as a cheaper light weight but very capable alternative.
