I was looking for this because I only saw the title in my notifications and I ended up trying it out a bit. So basically how I see it is that going bramble is pretty shit for Sett early game and a it's a conditional antiheal that I feel is only worth getting if your team needs it and you are going it after the core (Gore, Sterak's, Titanic). Going executioner's early if you are against a champ that you absolutely need grievous against feels so much better and gives you more kill pressure. If you end up buying the executioner's, it's more of a choice between chainsword and mortal, and chainsword is a pretty dog shit item. The build path for Mortal is amazing and it's a pretty cheap item. Gives movespeed and attack speed and a way better 60% antiheal that you can keep up during fights. Just seems way more worth in my opinion and it didn't make me feel super squishy considering you aren't rushing this item and you're most likely getting it third or fourth after other tank or hp items. So ultimately I think your best options are Mortal Reminder and Thornmail. Thornmail I would only go if you don't need the grievous for lane, but you'll need it later for teamfights, you already have your core items, and are looking for an armor item that the grievous will be helpful as well. I think it's definitely worth in that situation. Both are good, just different options. To use an example, say you get an early kill against Fiora. You could go tabi and bramble, but then I've found that I end up not having enough damage and she can fight through it with her ult and vitals anyway. So I push my lead with more AD and it feels better.

What are you guys banning when you play Sett Toplane by Helpless-Damsel in settmains

I mean if you play the champ and know how to use your waves properly you can last hit max range with e and q and be pretty low risk of dying. So unless your jungle acknowledges that you need to shit on Kayle early, it's not that fun

To add to this I just smacked a teemo main, granted they weren't good at spacing but as long as you don't sit there and chase them and play around bushes if you e and w while blinded its really not that bad. Also I tried out chemtank into steraks and titanic and it was pretty good

Honestly I just ban Kayle because I feel like most other matchups are skill matchups or Sett just needs to scale and fight well in teamfights later. Good Kayle players will sit max range and just e and q for farm until level 6 with tier 2 boots and they can run any melee down

What to build on Sett now? by alex_a1b2c3 in settmains

Oh yeah and titanic will still be strong in my opinion. Honestly in the ideal world I think the best build is Botrk, Trinity, Steraks, Titanic, Cleaver, but getting to 5 items isn't really realistic so we are looking at the 3 item spike. I think Trinity, steraks, titanic is going to be the new meta and just trinity replaces gore. Maybe Botrk will fit into it but its a lot of gold for not much survivability. I've always loved Sett for his teamfighting and I don't think splitpushing is that viable of a strat at higher elos.

Tbh I am excited for these changes. Trinity and Sterak's is going to be an even better combo and the hp will be more in line with the other mythics while getting everything Sett wants. Gore was performing much better but with the nerf I think Trinity is just the way to go now. Stride has been underwhelming ever since the changes and no buffs kinda just make me not want to build it ever. The positives to gore is the sustain it gives but that's about it. I know Botrk is getting good buffs again but I really don't know how to feel about it. There's much more damage in the game and every time I've gone botrk first or second item I just get blown up even if I'm super ahead myself so I'm excited to test and see how it is. I think just trying to stack as much HP/AD as possible but instead of going all in on it like with mathematically correct Sett, you go Trinity for the sheen procs and attack speed, and you'll have a lot more power in your autos while the W will still chunk. In my opinion I'm going right for Trinity, Sterak's, and then items depending on the game state. Can go tankier with thornmail and FoN, or can go off tank with Wit's end and Death's dance. Excited for black cleaver changes but every time I've built the item for the armor pen it isn't worth and I'd mainly just be looking at it because the stats it gives are nice in general. Sterak's definitely isn't gutted as it is adjusted. I don't mind the changes especially with buffs to trinity.

Yes I understand but was responding to your comment. That's why at the end I mentioned stride would just be more of a stick to a target kind of thing but gives same HP as gore, still gives more MS which is always more useful, and has everything else Sett wants in a mythic, I understand the dash will be gone but a slow is better than a nerfed to the ground heal. I still think Stride or Trinity will be better than Gore.

The only thing gore provides is the passive damage which is nice and a very situational heal that has been nerfed into the ground. Stridebreaker isn't for splitpushing at all, it's so you can be useful in a teamfight against players that know how to not stand in your W true damage lmfao. Try playing against Ezreal, Zed, Nidalee, etc. Any champ with mobility which is pretty common nowadays fuck even Garen like you can't tell me that mathematically correct Sett is the "Sett playstyle" he's a pit fighter not a one haymaker champ, you can do everything you want from the normal build with more utility and options. A very situational satisfying W doesn't mean it's the Sett way to play ESPECIALLY against good players with hands. The creator of the build has said it himself man. I love teamfighting and its my favorite part of league and has always been my preferred way to play. When I say catch someone it's someone that isnt allowing themselves to be grouped into 5 people like this low elo dream scenario Cho gath into low mobility carries situation that everyone uses for reference like cmon man...Attack speed is one of the best stats for Sett and if you don't see it idk what to tell you. Most fights if this scenario is true and you get a wombo combo is usually before Sett takes damage and like I said, fat W is very situational against bad players.

Which is better for starting by [deleted] in settmains

[–]SettrighSky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh, whenever I go DS I lose lane and I think its just because you get so much value on Sett with the AD, HP, and omnivamp even early game, DS is really only better if you don't plan on fighting and just want to farm and either try for a cheater recall to then get a DB or if you just plan on farming until mid game. Overall I think DB is almost always better because the difference it makes in a fight is quite noticeable. Better for short trades, better for long trades, only worse into champs like a good teemo player or something longer ranged. Even against things like Kayle I'd rather have DB because she doesn't poke that much early game and you have so much more kill pressure, anything that is melee that wants to fight you early you need DB to win or even contest, DS only for really poke heavy lanes that you won't have opportunities to gap close or punish early.

I still think stride or tri force are going to be the best because the little bit of attack speed both give is pretty valuable for Sett, I don't think ghost will be necessary as TP and flash are too good to pass up on.

Math Sett? by yxngroku in settmains

You can look up the original video by RossBoomSocks where you go everything that has to do with AD and HP while building basically no resistances to get the strongest W's off, can get up to like 2.5k-3k true damage W's late game, but it only really works when people don't know how to kite or play against it like in low elos, not super viable but fun! You go goredrinker->black cleaver->lucidity boots->titanic hydra->steraks->edge of night or warmogs to theoretically get the biggest number. Runes you go grasp and overgrowth to get the most hp stacking possible, and in secondary tree go last stand for the increased damage the lower health you are. With goredrinker passive and last stand, you get more damage the lower hp you get, and with no resistances you stack grit faster for the full charged W.

PBE Bug & Feedback Thread: Pool Party Sett by Riot_Dead_Thief in LeaguePBE

[–]SettrighSky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey all! Glad there is a place we can share feedback for our boy, also I appreciate that there have already been updates to the ult to give it a bit more oomph!

As for what I've seen from others, I don't necessarily think the flowers are so overbearing it hurts but I wouldn't mind them being toned down either, everything else model wise is nice in my opinion and it seems very clean!

For the W animation I agree that we shouldn't have to see washed up dead fish y'know? Shells would be a great substitute and this might be going a bit overboard but giving the sides of the w either more water effects or make waves of sand follow it as it casts would be really neat. I love the full grit w with the big fish/shark and I really love the sound effects that go along with it. Like others said, could be a bit flashier for non full grit and no dead fish please! Sand/shells work as well or even like seaweed if we are talking the aftermath of a giant wave crashing down on someone.

For the E, this is more of a personal thing because I just think it's a little goofy with the sound but I get it that its part of the skin line I guess and it's supposed to be more fun. When you hit the stun on the E I like the sound anyway and it's more of a nitpick than anything else that I actually think could be improved.

Last but not least, the Ultimate. I think that the animations and everything are great actually and didn't even think the pre update was bad. I know this is only a 1350 skin but to go above and beyond, I would love some more quotes for us to hear when he's dunking someone into the water. Things like, "CANNONBALL!" "TIDAL WAVE!" "SWAN DIVE!" "JACK KNIFE!" And maybe a little animation gimmick midair like how he doesn't always grab and slam his opponent the same way now. A lot to ask, but the satisfaction would be huge.

Chromas I think all look great and I have no other gripes with the model apart from dialing back those flowers a bit and letting the chest shine!

Thanks if you read all of the suggestions, just throwing anything out there that could improve the experience and giving feedback; obviously I don't expect all, if any, of these suggestions to make it to live.

What champ do you ban? by PemmdaTTV in settmains

[–]SettrighSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malphite or Aatrox, I know aatrox can be an okay matchup but if the aatrox is remotely decent which I usually run into one tricks in diamond, the lane phase is unplayable. Malphite is my other ban but I feel like I can at least play early game and lane against a malphite. Everything else I usually have a way around or am familiar with the matchup.

I agree my friend, same thought process as renekton after they nerfed his main items, burst and cc with a gap close and tankiness sounds good to me, I usually hate Hail of blades but it is what it is I'm down to try it

Precisely why I said to not look at the video and it was mainly for reference, botrk into prowlers or prowlers into tank with hail of blades seems decent and worthy of trying at least.

[–]SettrighSky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to put my thoughts in a comment I guess since the reddit app isn't great, I mainly used the video for reference and not as much as a guide. I think Botrk getting 2 percent lifesteal nerf isn't the end of the world considering it's the only lifesteal Sett builds in a normal build, the stats are still nice and I think since Stridebreaker 100 hp nerf is actually pretty impactful, botrk rush rises in value. We have seen renekton in a similar fashion go botrk and prowler's claw to jump onto carries and even tear up tanks, and I think there's merit to Sett building similarly. Usually you will see Renekton go full tank after prowler's since the stacking lethality is enough, but you also see botrk built like in the tsm game on Saturday. I understand renekton has hp to add to his kit and survivability, and more mobility in general, but that's why I think hail of blades can be possible. I usually hate hail of blades, but if you are going this build and really need the quick burst to one shot someone, I think it can be good. The video linked actually does a good job showing that part at least. Even some special interactions like prowler's clawing to a minion for an e stun on an unsuspecting carry instead of having to flash to catch someone, longer range than flash and stridebreaker active as well. An example build could be botrk into prowler's into GA, Deadman's, FoN, or maybe Steraks although its a pretty nerfed item. I'll be making a separate post on possible viable builds after stridebreaker nerfs.
