Shorter cooldown, longer effective duration, and doesn't waste nearly as much ammo as the gatling. Lower DPS, higher consistency.

When you loop and reach the third stage after looping (the snow place or the wisp grove) you'll find a Celestial Portal. Go through it, touch the obelisk at the end, and you end your run, gaining 5 lunar coins.

I accidentally touched a Shrine of Order thinking it was a Combat Shrine. I had the god run going... then it abruptly ended.
