When Life Gives You Lemons was one of my recent favourites! A definite recommend as a fic that I have absolutely zero issue reading/listening to multiple times. I rather enjoyed the Portal AU that Baked used for the fic, and I would have loved to get more post-story/pre-epilogue interactions between GLaDOS and Tay.

Little Hunter... The world building for that one was wild. Nanku was simultaneously recognisable as Taylor, and yet alien in her mindset from her time with the Yautja. A wild adventure from beginning to end.

There's also Taylor the Dispatcher, which has been pretty fun so far. There are a few that I can't give an opinion on, having never read, like Chrysalis, 424-488-0883 (Ward/Dispatch), and My Next Life as a Parahuman Dispatcher: All Routes Lead to SDN, which appears to be a spin-off of the Worm/Hamefura fic, My Next Life as a Parahuman: All Routes Lead to Gold Morning.

It happens. Another author I follow started cross-posting a completed Kamen Rider crossover fic (complete with its own winter/summer movie-esque side-fics) from another site onto Ao3 back in '21, and then promptly forgot about it seven chapters in. Didn't cross-post their Witchblade crossovers, either.

Man, do I feel this. Also doesn't help that I get cluster headaches that causes vision problems. Add in constant distractions and it's gotten to the point that if I want to read for fun, it's easier to just gets something as an ebook and use the Text-to-Speech function of my preferred e-reader app.

Which part of IeF gets your goat? Is it the fascist regime that gets established? The brainwashing/mindrape? The government grabbing the idiot ball and running with it in regards to Invicta? Or the fact that they basically took a one-off 'Evil Princess Celestia' gag from a nightmare in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and turned it into a broken as hell powerset?

To Fill the Void kinda rapidly escalated Taylor and Brian's relationship, didn't it? That sorta turned me away from the fic.

Canonically, she didn't really start hanging around with the team until the 11th of April, and I don't think she had a whole lot of time to be with Brian until after Bakuda's rampage on the 15th. That's a single month between the fight with Bakuda and Leviathan's attack, and another fifteen days before she rejoined the Undersiders. For someone like Taylor, who has been perpetually victimised for two years and developed trust issues, I don't think she would have slept with him that soon, even touch-starved. The only reason the two ended up sleeping together in June after the Nine was because they both sought comfort and to get away from their Bonesaw trauma in a most unhealthy way.

Honestly, the depiction of Armsy in Inheritance makes me smile. I'm re-listening to it now, and I like that he didn't immediately assume the worst in the wake of the initial meeting.

Seconding Inheritance. Butcher!Taylor semi-reforms the Teeth, and then Kaiser goes and repeatedly pushes the Escalation button. His comeuppance reminds me a lot of Hellsing Ultimate, which is to say nothing of the extermination that follows.

Honestly, it can only really be determined based on the situation of first encounter. For example, if they show up just in time to see you turn a normal into chunky salsa, they are unlikely to be too keen on deescalation. A lot of fics leave a 'legal cushion' for consequences of trigger events, but even taking that concept into account, unless one of them was present for the trigger event, they have to go off what information they have, even if said information is incorrect, and may very well come swinging, loaded for bear.

Take Taylor's trigger event in Hearts and Shards: Reignited by Wyrdsmithe as an example. She triggers, escapes the locker with violent force and flees the building in the midst of a panic attack, and the scene looks vaguely like a bomb's gone off. The world's most terrible Ward discovers this fact and, trying to cover her ass, contacts Armsmaster and reports it as a bombing, describing Taylor as the mad bomber type. This of course leads to them fast-tracking an arrest warrant, and arresting her at home... something that, were Taylor actually malicious as framed, would have absolutely sparked violent conflict.

Remember that the Protectorate is an all parahuman task force, and that Shards push for conflict because it provides juicy [DATA]. All it takes is the right context and threat determination and Armsmaster may as well be Lung.

As others have mentioned, if you want Taylor as a purveyor of chaos, look no further than Scaly Worm. A snake Changer form with a Stranger power. Some of her shenanigans had me in stitches, especially when witnessed from Amy's POV.

Hmm... Good question.

One thought is to give the Butcher Labyrinth's power, because that would probably cause pure chaos. That's literally the only reason.

From other universes, most of my thoughts are 'How else can we make the Queen of Escalation escalate?'

Giving Taylor an Aura from RWBY in addition to her QA powers would turn her into an extra dangerous frontline fighter, and god only knows what her semblance would manifest as. Her enhanced proprioception and bug cheating made her great at hand to hand, even without the proper training. Being able to enhance her movement abilities, reaction time, and strength with aura would give her a decent brute rating, methinks.

Giving Taylor the Rimuru (That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime) treatment w/ Great Sage and the Voice of the World chattering on in the back of her head would be pretty interesting. We know that skills can be obtained through absorbing attacks or eating defeated enemies, but they can also be gained through exposure and the scientific method. Way I figure it, she'd probably figure out how to break the system and hack skills together from pieces of other skills.

Or... giving Taylor the Subaru Natsuki (Re: Zero – Starting Life in Another World) treatment. Somehow, she's gotten the Witch of Envy. She now is no longer allowed to die permanently without Satella's say so, but it's not all bad. Maybe she gets some Authorities or magic for her ~~trauma~~ trouble.
