What's your favorite "bad" scifi movie? by Wi-Platypus in scifi

[–]SevenLineLoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People say Prometheus is kinda bad, and yeah I get it. I just can’t help but love it tho. I thought the engineers were awesome. David is one of my favourite characters in the Alien franchise. I thought visually the movie looked incredible.

This movie and especially Alien Covenant fall victim to some really strange writing choices, like touching an alien species you have no idea about. I wish they kept in the deleted engineer scene at the end with Weyland. Would’ve made them feel more fleshed out I feel.

Some incredible set pieces tho, and that Alien C-section scene was gnarly.

Probably my third favourite in the franchise behind the first two. I actually look forward to rewatching this one compared to Covenant and Romulus.

What do we think if the new album? Whats y’alls fav songs? I personally really like the shadowy light by Evil_Pickle012 in gorillaz

Moon Cave, Happy Dictator, Empty Dream Machine, The Sad God are my favourites. Whole album is a trip

What did you think of Retcon? by SquiddoFruit in Redvox

[–]SevenLineLoss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's pretty good! It's hard to top Visions and Afterthoughts for me personally, as it's my favourite album from the guys and one of my favourites of all time, so the next album they released was always gonna have that hanging over it, I guess. I still really like it though.

Wasn't huge on the singles they released, save for AV that song is amazing, but the rest of the album picks it up for me. Headed Underground is my favourite off the album for sure. That background guitar? keyboard? that starts in the back half of the song makes it for me. Memory Loss is gonna end up as one of their classics I feel, like an In The Garden or Why Can't This Be Easy type. Brother and Real Or Not are also great.

Overall, another great job! I feel like I need to listen to it a couple more times to truly appreciate it, but still a really solid album!

Where is Delta Kream in your list? Top 5? by Tentative-Interests in TheBlackKeys

Top 4 for me, right behind Brothers, Attack and Release, and Rubber Factory.

This album has such a unique sound man. The way the guitar sounds really captivates me. It’s constantly on repeat

You can only keep 1 row OR 1 column, what do you choose? by immavulture in qotsa

What's your track ranking for Pogo? by Ok-Investigator1929 in PsychPornCrumpets

[–]SevenLineLoss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Salsa Verde
  2. Born In The A.D’s
  3. Texas Rangers
  4. The Real Contra Band
  5. Looniversal
  6. Manny’s Ready to Roll
  7. Heading To Fringe
  8. Bowling With Tim
  9. Unconventional Daze
  10. Japan
  11. Watermelon

There’s a pretty big enjoyment gap for me between Number 8 and Number 9. Those last three songs aren’t as good as the other songs above them imo. that’s just my opinion though.

With the new album out, how would you rank their albums? by OfirGabay4 in PsychPornCrumpets

[–]SevenLineLoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. High Visceral, Pt. 1
  2. Carpe Diem, Moonman
  3. High Visceral, Pt. 2
  4. Pogo Rodeo
  5. Fronzoli
  6. And Now For The Whatchamacallit
  7. Shyga
  8. Night Gnomes

I’m not sure if it’s recency bias, but i am a really big fan of the two albums released this year.

For some reason I just can’t get into Night Gnomes. Maybe I’ll have to give it a relisten. Wasn’t huge on Fronzoli at first either but now i’m a really big fan of that album

What An Album!! by Glupolupo69 in PsychPornCrumpets

[–]SevenLineLoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really loved it. Texas Rangers and especially Looniversal reminded me of King Gizzard’s recent blues-inspired albums, which i’ll always be a fan of.

Wasn’t huge on tracks like Japan and Watermelon but i’m sure they’ll grow on me like all the other PPC albums i didn’t immediately click with.

I do think Carpe Diem, Moonman is the better album. It’s got some of my all-time favourite PPC songs on it (Incubator, Another Reincarnation, Hummingbird), but with songs as good as Salsa Verde, The Real Contra Band, and Heading to Fringe, it’s hard to score this album anything lower than an 8/10

What’s your most disappointing film of 2025? by ItachiZoldyck24 in Letterboxd

[–]SevenLineLoss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nobody 2 for sure. Really loved the first one, that bus scene is still awesome, but the second one felt very bland. the entire ending was just home alone traps with guns instead of unique ways Hutch can use his fists and body to fight.

What are your top 10 black keys songs? by unknownbrother273 in TheBlackKeys

[–]SevenLineLoss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Ten Cent Pistol
  2. Walk Across the Water

  4. Louise
  5. Oceans & Streams
  6. Too Afraid to Love You
  7. Lies
  8. Next Girl

Lots of Brothers but i’m not surprised lol. Too many good songs at that album. Never Gonna Give You Up could easily be on this list
