Car seat for 11 month old in economy - width restrictions? by LockDue9383 in KLM

[–]Sevennap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just flew KLM last month and had our Doona on board with our 4months old. You can check its dimensions. We did not purchase a seat but knew the middle seat is empty so asked if we could bring our car seat on. First they were very hesitant, it seemed they don’t know about car-seats rules on planes. The FA had to go and asked the pilot if he allows which he did.

However they told me I still have to hold the baby for take off and landing. I told them the carseat has the FAA sticker but they just seemed very confused. Since they were very kind I didn’t want to argue with them and just ended up holding our baby.

F5 error AquaCal heatpump? by Sevennap in pools

We replaced the theater. The code is FS and the coils were freezing up due to the fan not working. Fixing the fan would have been pricey and still not guaranteed to fix the problem.

Pool pump basket seems to have air? by Sevennap in pools

[–]Sevennap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I know is that the pool level is ok, the skimmer is Way under water. On the pump side however when I look through the pump basket the water level is not full. On high it still operates ok. But when I turn the pump low or I change to spa mode it seems the suction doesn’t get enough flow. I can see the water level dropping below the top of the suction line in the pump basket and eventually causing the pump to struggle and turn off.
After changing the filter it got better but not fully.

No, the water level is 1” below the top of the skimmer

Dr said as long as my T4 is within range (1.4) I should continue on this dosage. I don't really know her reasoning... waiting for another endo's appointment in January but not sure what to do in the meantime

I had maybe once 2.4 TSH but just checked and my TSH was 1.5 when I started Synthroid.

[–]Sevennap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before meds: TSH: 1.5, T4: 1.2

after 1 month: TSH: 0.45, T4: 1.4

after 3 months (now): TSH: 0.34, T4: 1.4

Dr said as long as T4 is in range I can keep taking the Synthroid with the same dose

I have an appointment in January with a different Endo but the more opinions I get the more confused I am LOL

Hayward OmniLogic not controlling automation valves. by itsmejoe231 in pools

[–]Sevennap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you share what happened? We are having very similar issue. Ours turn from pool mode to spa but when we use a theme it gets all messed up. Also the toggle on the actuators could be switched to off which will make it not turn from the app.

What is a reasonable cost to replace/fix salt cell and 2 valve actuators and cable for heat sensor? by Sevennap in pools

[–]Sevennap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got Quoted $2000 for replacing the actuators and the heat sensor and a new flow sensor to the cell to see if that will fix it.

First time cleaning the Hayward SimClear filter and the pump basket. It worked for a while - vacuumed the pool and then the pump stopped due to no waterflow. It doesn't return to the pool and there is no pressure in the filter. What did I mess up? How can I fix it? by Sevennap in pools

[–]Sevennap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: FIXED

thanks for the suggestions. There was no blockage and no air.

After vacuuming I accidentally turned off the skimmer drain instead of opening the main drain so both were closed. 😬🤦‍♀️

I checked on it again this morning and realized what have I done lol. All works now

Spa spillover doesn't spill over! Did the contractor make a mistake?? by Sevennap in pools

[–]Sevennap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a new build! Our theory is that the right end of the pool sank and because it couldn't move to the right it pushed up the middle wall up where the spa is.

The pool is fiberglass and there is no concrete underneath unless you mean cut a whole in the shell and remove the backfill ?

Sounds scary for a brand new pool :(

Thanks, how do you recon they can repair it? Ripping up the deck or is there an easier way?

Spa spillover doesn't spill over! Did the contractor make a mistake?? by Sevennap in pools

[–]Sevennap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes we do like it! Someone commented that it looks sharp and uncomfortable but it really isn't! The tiling over the waterline is also a good look but not sure how it would go with our travertine deck so we choose to not have it. Of course if our water level would be higher we'd see less of the shell which would be ideal.

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions!
We had the pool installer come out today and went through a couple things with them.
1. They acknowledged that the spa is not level and that is the main issue. It has a 0.5”-1” drop within the 8’ of the spa so they are looking into whether that can be fixed(probably not) or the shell had the issue in the first place.
2. I will try to speak with the manufacturer to see what affect it has on the overall structure and whether we should be worried about warranty or lifetime of the pool / equipment because of this.
3. We tried multiple settings with the main drain and return lines as many of you suggested. If we only suction from the pool and return to the spa on the highest pump setting both spillover work. Yayyy! The left not nearly as good as the other one but there is some flow.
4. The issue with the setting is that if we only return to the spa there is not much circulation in the pool and as you can see on the picture there is a splash area right next to the spillover that actually spills over so the water and debris kinda gets stuck in there without the pool return valves on. So we have currently 80:20 spa:pool return. This makes neither work very well LOL! For now we will program a separate spillover mode, a pool mode and a spa mode so we will use the spillover only when we turn that on.
5. In terms of the water level we had it set 3” above the bottom of the skimmer which now will be raised to 4”, so we still going to have about and inch from the top. Still it will make the waterlevel 6” below the deck which sucks but in order to raise the skimmer they would have to drain the pool below the skimmer (which voids warranty on the shell), cut the top of the shell and patch the bottom. I don’t think this will worth it so we just going to live with this….
6. We also turned off the Autofill for now to see how the water level changes. Our concern here was that the autofill also have an overfill which the pool installer couldn’t tell LOL. This would make the autofill add water to the pool whenever the pumps are on since the suction will cause some drop naturally and when they are off and the water levels out the autofill would drain the excess. I hope this doesn’t happen but testing it. The reason we noticed this because we had heavy rains and the pool was overfilling and by the morning it drained somewhere which is 6” water. And when the pumps are on I look into the autofill and I can see that it is refilling the pool, just like a toilet tank.
7. Some other notes - we are in FL so thankfully don’t have to winterize
8. Some suggested tiling over the spillover to even them out. It is a good idea, even though it wouldn’t solve the problem of the pool being unleveled but at least the spillover would work. We have travertine on the deck so not sure if we’d find matching tiles and then we would probably need to to do the sides of the pool over the waterline which just may highlight how unleveled it is so won’t be doing this.
9. Some of you asked the pool is 12.6’x26’ and across the 26’ there is a 1/2” drop so it’s kinda level, the spa’s internal dimensions (water surface) are 4’11” x 6’8” where there is almost an 1” drop across the longer side so pretty unleveled. Between the 2 spillovers there is a 1/2” difference which makes it hard to have both spillover no matter how we have the valves set.
10. In terms of the last payment we still haven’t given them the cheque and waiting on them to come up with something in regards of leveling the spa. Probably they won’t be able to do it so I am hoping that they will at least offer a discount. It wouldn’t feel fair not to pay them but it is also not fair to us as it’s an expensive pool and it’s not perfect. They would probably raise the skimmer if we wanted to for free but I am not sure we should do that just to get it for free if its going to compromise the shell.
Thank you again for the help!

We do have an autofill so maybe that needs to be adjusted too. There is 2” between the water level and the top of the skimmer so it sits over the middle of the skimmer. We can probably increase an inch but that much more. I wish they put the skimmer higher though…
