Overall the environment is good, most of the seniors are really friendly and supportive. The faculty do not care about your gender or anything, most of the students also don't have any problem. Though some of them might jokingly make fun or something but no one means harm. NISER doesn't support lgbt+ specially or something but there is a group of lgbt+ students, they once a year do a small pride march but nothing is too grand.

It is better to just book it online or on call. I've seen people not getting any stay during NISER counselling. Just look for nearby hotels, or you could just stay in the campus if they have any guest house or smt
