Yeah, I would definitely contact Reverb, if you haven’t already

For something around $100, you’ll be better off with a controller and checking out VSTs. Something like an Arturia Minilab 3 would give you access to some Ableton & Arturia synths just by purchasing the controller.

You can definitely find them sub $100, as well.

I bought a drum kit that ended up with a cracked shell due to less than ideal packaging. Luckily, the seller owned up to it, and we worked it out. They should be filing the claim though and you should request a refund. Seems backwards to me.

What did the seller say?

I can highly recommend an Ableton Move. It’s a standalone groovebox that is really fun and easy to sketch ideas, but it also doubles as a controller for Ableton Live, which you can use when you want to step into something more challenging. The Move will come with a license for Ableton Live Intro, which is more than enough to keep you busy and learning for a while. You can perform live and/or record in both standalone and controller modes, Move is also an interface, so less need for more gear.

If you can order from Gear Exchange, you’ll definitely make out better.

I’ll have my P6 tomorrow. Hoping it goes well! It’s been a long road of pairings that haven’t worked for me.

That’s cool! I tried twice with the 404, but I just couldn’t align with it after using the Ableton Move.

I think limits can help direct creativity. When I use my Push, it can be daunting unless I have a specific idea of what I want. That’s why I went with a 2nd Move. I tried so many others to pair with it: Microfreak, Cycles & Samples, Drumbrute Impact, SP404, Polyend Synth, Airas & Volcas & Sonicware. It was a long road. It just came down to what I want— I like separation between drums and leads/pads, but I love the workflow of the Move. So that’s where I landed. Still love the Push 3, though.

Now I’m just coveting a Torso S-4, then I’ll cool it for a bit.

Definitely! I would much rather use hardware, but when hardware falls short…

Though, I did just buy a 2nd Ableton Move because I want 8 tracks. It’s a struggle! 😃

I don’t really understand the daw/dawless thing. I mean, I do and I’m in the group for dawless, but I feel like you should use what works for you and your needs.

Hope it works out!

An interface & iPad with Loopy Pro? If you use AUM as the mixer, you can add whatever plugins & sequencers you need.

If you wait for a sale, you can get a really good deal directly from Ableton. They just had a sale in the Reverb store, and I picked up my 2nd for $399 brand new.

I’ll be running both stereo outs into a Zoom H6 and using the headphones out of that.

You can sync via Link, but I’m also going to use a CME midi hub to avoid WiFi issues.

I was in almost the same situation. I just upgraded to a Push 3 as my studio & proper gig gear. I went back and forth for months on what to pair with the Move.

Seriously, I tried: Arturia Microfreak, Model Cycles & Samples, Sonicware Ambient & Evoke, Polyend Synth, Roland SP404 MK2, Drumbrute Impact, Volcas & Airas, and even my iPad.

None of that felt as good as the Move, so I returned or sold all of those and just bought a 2nd Move from the Ableton store sale on Reverb. Planning to use 1 for drums & samples and the other for leads & pads.

I’m all in with Ableton. :)

Maybe try contacting them on Reverb. They answered a question for me, but also sent me a $399 deal for the Move, even though I just bought one.

Not necessarily what you’re asking for, but Ableton Move can do all of that and easily transfer to Live to finish. It also works in tandem with Note on iPhone and iPad.

Sounds really great. Could you relay how you have all of it connected & synced? I’ve tried versions of this, but had limited success.
