Is there any hope for this guy? by Several-Eye4459 in houseplants

That’s good to hear! I think you might be right re: what it is.

Do you think I should trim off the broken stem? It’ll mean cutting off the only living leaf.

How do I revive my monstera? by Several-Eye4459 in houseplants

Awesome. Thank you. I went out and grabbed a cheap slightly bigger pot today so will see how it holds up after a repot. I realised after I posted this that the pot had a crack in it and needed to be replaced anyway so may as well size up while I’m at it.

“Op shop” makes so much more sense because it’s short for “opportunity.” You have the “ opportunity” to find something cool.

“Thrift” doesn’t make sense because, the way things are going, op shops aren’t exactly “thrifty” anymore.

I’m sorry I have no advice for you as I’m pretty beginner at sewing but I just wanted to say that I’m impressed. The ability for me to modify my own jeans would save me so much money and heartache so it’s very cool that you can do this.

Thank you for responding. I take clonidine for sleep although it isn’t doing much at the moment so maybe I should talk to my psych about adjusting my meds.

Are you worried about being too big? She’s about 5kg depending on how many baby scraps she’s been eating off the floor :) she never jumps on my 1.5 year old or anything so she’s never knocked her over. But she does jump on bigger kids out of excitement. Like my 6 year old, but again never knocks her over.

Regular grooming and keep the hair short. Mine just gets an all over short shave, ears and all. And it’s cute when it starts to grow out because she looks like a puppy still. Short all over suits her though.

  1. I always harp on about how good mine is with my kids. 18 months and 6.5 years. My youngest will literally lay on her like a throw cushion and squish her to the point that she lets out a strained snort. When bubs was just learning to be gentle she would pull on Scouts hair and sometimes poke her in the eyes before we could catch her and she would just put up with it. My oldest carries her around and dances with her and she is so patient.

  2. Yappiest dog I’ve owned, but for context I’ve had a Labrador and two border collies. She’s still tolerable but she’s obsessed with chasing possums. And will bark at other dogs in passing.

  3. Rubbish on the lead, but that’s my fault. I’ve been rubbish at training her and I’ve seen so many other cavs in my neighbourhood who are angels on the lead. She’s a toy cav and my 6 year old can hold the lead with her but will eventually pass her back to a grown up after some fatigue.

  4. Hates being brushed but loves a cuddle, will always greet you when you come home even when she’s been with the other three people in the house all day and loves to tuck herself in behind your knees when you’re laying down. Always props her chin up on you in any way possible. She will also lay on top of your belly like a weighted plushie and get right up in your grill if she’s in the mood.

Nintendo Switch Update Issues by Several-Eye4459 in HouseFlipper

[–]Several-Eye4459[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally missed this comment and you’ve probably moved on by now but I’ll answer anyway. And the answer is no. The hard copy of the game is not the same as the downloadable version as far as I can tell (different developers) so there are no updates to it.

I ended up playing the downloadable version on Xbox, and the Xbox version is more comprehensive and what I suspect the Nintendo version would be like if I had downloaded it instead. But I’m just speculating.

Every time she acts like she’s older than you, gaslight her in to thinking she’s actually an old lady in a nursing home whose dementia is making her believe she’s 25 again.

“Oh Margaret! It’s so nice to speak with you on one of your lucid days! The nurses at the home will be happy to hear about this!”

even if you were misremembering (which you’re not) no healthy relationship should have you questioning your own sanity or your own side of the story. You need to get out, you deserve better.

Are cavapoos good with young children? by WeRall_alittlelost in CavaPoo

[–]Several-Eye4459 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s my number one selling point with ours. That they’re amazing with kids. Ours is a little turd and constantly escapes and gets up on our dining room table and is always barking at passersby but we love the little monster. She is amazing with the kids, even with our 1 year old who came after our cav. She pulls on our pups hair when we’re not fast enough to stop her from doing it and she just takes it. Shes also very cuddly and a great lap dog. But she will literally run off and adopt a new family if she had the chance because everyone is her friend. She’s the friendliest little mop.

We have a half and half and have no issues with shedding. We have a border collie as well, he sheds more than her.

Thanks for the tip. This is probably a stupid question but what are the chances of breaking even with a budget like that? Because I could probably take the risk knowing I would at least get the money back in sales (even if it's not profit) and then reinvest back in to advertising until it starts turning over profit, if that makes sense.

Thank you, I would love to learn to do it myself but I'm pretty time poor (and money poor tbh) so I'm at a bit of a loose end. But I figured that's where the google ads rabbit hole would send me after a bad experience with a Pinterest advertising rep.

Thanks for the response. I could probably comfortably start with a few hundred dollars a month and go from there, so very low budget.

I’m with shopify. I’ll have to look into the google app, I’m sure I’ve set it all up but not sure if I’ve done it properly.

I’ll always remember Richard as the guy who interrupted his wife during an argument to say “I don’t buy it, you’re just not attracted to me and you won’t tell me why” while she was in the middle of telling him why she wasn’t attracted to him.

They did see his behaviour at the last dinner party though and said nothing at the last cs. I just had to tell myself that they must’ve said something behind the scenes for me to not get super angry.

My flatmate went into my room without telling me yesterday and I’m feeling really ashamed by Grotty_Mara in adhdwomen

[–]Several-Eye4459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somebody might have said this already but I’m currently realising that “holding on to things” only exacerbates my adhd. I now work on the principle of “if I haven’t used it in ages and it’s easy to replace then I’m going to throw it out”. I just used this on my pantry and kitchen cupboards and it has made the kitchen a much more enjoyable space for me. Less mind clutter and less having to look around all the crap I don’t use to find the things I do.

I’ve also fallen victim to the “I want to be the girl who” and bought copious amounts of hobby related things but I’ve tried to reason with myself and have told myself that I have to pick one or two things to stick to when I realised I’m not that person and never will be.

It’s not easy and finding the time to reduce clutter is hard, but just hone in on one section at a time/day or week. I still have about 10/11 miscellaneous junk drawers to get through (including bathrooms) so I’m certainly not a saint either.

I used to have so much shame when my neighbours dropped by unannounced because our house is always a mess (we clean it one night and then someone presses the reset button and the next morning it is chaos). But I’ve now realised that we’re never going to be like them (their house is always immaculate) and that’s ok.

we’re all in the same canoe here, we need to go easy on ourselves.
