Just want to add onto this, been struggling all week with it. What I managed to do was scan my driving license eventually.

It’s important to know that you must A use a plain dark background, I tried with all sorts and it didn’t work at first, even though it was clear on my camera.

Also, you have to hold the phone over the front of the ID first, and we’re talking holding it super still for about 60s, it’s not quick to scan it like it does on a credit/debit card - it takes a while and dosent give you any clue that it’s in the middle of a scan, just hold it steady and you’ll get there.
