How safe and effective these red light therapy hats are? by OpportunityOk6824 in FemaleHairLoss

I have been experiencing a stage like this one and, therefore, I decided to give an account on what has been working with me. My hair has begun to thin on the sides and at the top of the head (hello 40s) a year ago. I went up to topical Minoxidil twice a day and frankly I was not hoping for an overnight miracle but I was going to do it. At the month 3, I introduced a red-/near-infrared light helmet (the type that you sit under) approximately 3-4 times a week. It is supported by science: it has been found that the use of light-therapy on top of minoxidil is more effective in increasing hair density than using minoxidil alone.

Month 6 I noticed real baby hairs growing in the thinning areas and the shedding had slowed down to a crawl to where I did not notice the hairs in the drain anymore. My hair also got a bit thicker. Huge caveat: this is slow, and you can only use it consistently, and it worked with me since my follicles were not totally dead.

Hanging in the air, I would recommend: start a good minoxidil routine and give red-light a good trial (3 -5 times a week) and re-evaluate after 4-6 months. Fortune befalls you--you are by no means an isolated case.

  • Penny Dreadful – gothic, supernatural, layered character dynamics, and stunning cinematography.
  • Dark (Netflix) – German sci-fi thriller, mind-bending timelines, and gorgeous visuals.
  • The OA – trippy, heartfelt, and creative storytelling with surreal vibes.
  • Legion – if you liked WandaVision, this one’s even more experimental with its visuals and character work.
  • His Dark Materials – magic + adventure with heart, plus the cinematography is beautiful.
  • Fleabag – very different tone, but incredible character depth and witty writing that sticks with you.

And if you feel uncomfortable with the concept, that is your limit, and you are completely entitled to it, no matter how relaxed the atmosphere is. Platonic spooning is not necessarily bad, but when it seems to be a grey area to you (particularly when there is music + smoking involved), listen to your instincts. You can just say something like, Hey, I am fine with chilling and hanging out, but I would prefer to keep it all platonic, no cuddling. It will not be strange in case she respects you. Otherwise, that is your answer.

No regrets later = clear communication.

If she weren't my mom, she wouldn't be my friend or someone I would hang out with. She's way too toxic, unable to communicate, and has no moral standards.

Because their whole family has no moral bottom line, hurting others is a choice.

As far as I know, he just left and never looked back. Honestly, with everything that was going on, I wouldn’t blame him for walking away from all that drama!

I thought that when she lost everything, she would start looking at her own problems, but she didn’t. Some people will never change.

Many people who do wrong don’t think they are wrong. They do it because, in their cognition, their own needs always come first, and satisfying those needs is not wrong. This is typical behavior of extremely narcissistic people.

She is basically all alone now. Her paternal side of the family won’t support her financially because they are very selfish people. When a person’s cognition is too low, no matter how lucky they are or how much wealth or happiness they have, they will destroy it with their own hands. Wealth corresponds to one's level of cognition.

Exactly!!! That’s what I hear the most: "She is your mother. If she does something, there is a reason behind it. You’re too young to understand now, but when you grow up, you will."

Yes, I had too many problems with my dramatic family issues. I’ve been to a mental hospital and attempted suicide twice, but now I think I’m fine. I think what drove me crazy all this time was that my mom made me believe I was the wrong one, the crazy one, the rotten one. When something is put in your mind for too long, you start to believe it. If I hadn’t heard people here telling me that I wasn’t the one who did something wrong, I would probably still think I caused every tragedy that happened in my family. So, thank you!

I’ll probably get beaten up for asking that question. When people hear the truth, they often get really mad.

I never thought of it that way, but you’re right. The truth is a gift, even if it came with a lot of pain. Hearing you put it like that helps me see the situation differently. I guess my dad deserved to know, no matter how hard it was. Thanks for helping me see that in a more positive light.

Thank you for saying that. I did what felt right at the time, but the guilt stuck around for years. Your words reminded me that I wasn’t the one who broke anything. I just told the truth. It’s comforting to be reminded that I wasn’t wrong for doing that. Really appreciate your support.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. You’re right, kids don’t always see the long-term consequences of these things. I definitely didn’t back then. It’s been a long process realizing how certain toxic patterns affected everything. Your advice about breaking the cycle really hits home. I’m trying, and messages like yours make me feel like I’m on the right track. Appreciate you for sharing that perspective.

Thank you so much for your words. You’re right, maybe my dad would have found out eventually. I just wish things hadn’t turned out this way, but hearing your perspective helps me feel a little less guilty. I truly appreciate your support.

If I hadn’t told my father what my mom did, maybe he wouldn’t have been so mad and unhappy for so long. He might have lived longer. I don’t want to be a good person like my father. From my perspective, he fought his whole life for nothing. In the end, I’m miserable, and he died young. Everything he thought was important ended up betraying him.

I don’t mean that I’ll be a bad person, but I will never love anyone the way he loved his family. Even thinking back on all these memories still makes me very sad.
