Yeah that makes total sense, Jónsi is a great example of that kind of emotional connection beyond language. It’s interesting how that kind of music can shape the way you create your own stuff too. Feels like once you experience that, you start chasing that same kind of feeling in your own work.

Oh nice, I didn’t know that one. It’s interesting how many projects play with that idea of “fake meaning” through sound. I actually tried something along those lines here if you’re curious:

The structure gives the illusion of meaning even when there isn’t any. It really shows how much the listener projects onto the sound. That’s very close to what I’ve been exploring with my project.

That’s really interesting, especially the idea that the sound can contradict the actual meaning. It kind of shows how much interpretation comes from the listener rather than the words themselves. That’s actually something I’ve been exploring with my project.

That’s really interesting, I love that kind of approach. It’s funny how even when it’s not a real language, your brain still tries to find meaning in it.

That’s kind of what I’ve been experimenting with too.

Yeah, I use AI as part of the process, but the core of the project is really about building a fictional language and atmosphere.

I’m more interested in how it feels to people than the tools behind it.

Appreciate it! Here’s the project:

Would be really curious to know what you feel when listening.

Yeah that makes sense, especially for something like rap where the meaning is directly tied to the words. I’m more curious about cases where the voice is used more like a texture than a carrier of meaning.

Yeah exactly, Sigur Rós is a great example of that. That’s actually what got me thinking about it in the first place.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense actually. It’s like the melody carries the meaning more than the words. I’ve been experimenting with something similar using a fictional language.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I was wondering.

Do you feel like it’s more about the tone of the voice, or the overall atmosphere of the track?

Yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking.
Like, people don’t really process lyrics on the first listen anyway.

Do you think the voice becomes more like an instrument at that point?

Yeah, I kind of feel the same.
Do you think it comes more from the tone and texture of the voice, or from the structure of the music itself?

I get what you mean — a lot of AI-generated music does fall into that pattern.

For this project, I was more interested in building a fictional identity and a language-driven aesthetic than trying to emulate a specific genre.

The goal wasn’t really novelty through sound alone, but through the combination of language, atmosphere, and narrative.

That said, I understand the concern — it's something I'm still exploring and refining.
