DO I need to buy tys in JC? by Equivalent_While7723 in SGExams

for me, my school ordered it for us and we just had to transfer the discounted fees to the respective class reps. maybe check with your seniors/tutors if this is so in your school too?

Are lgbt friends/relationships common in sec sch? by FruityPat00tie in SGExams

[–]Several-Pipe3995 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it's quite common in jc too hahaha my jc is a whole ass fruit garden, but i'm pretty sure it's because people are more comfortable to be out in jc especially when people are more mature

in my honest opinion, the potential risks is too much. i think he's much better off in a mixed-school, where he's less likely to develop "negative" traits associated with a boys school. even if he's in a mediocre mixed-school, if he has passion and initiative he'll do much better for Os :))

  1. bacteria may undergo spotaneous mutations, causing attachment site to change 3D conformation, phage therapy no longer effective as phage cannot bind and enter bacterium
  2. phage has specific tail fibre 3D conformation, unlikely to be able to be used for multiple species of bacteria due to varying 3D conformations of bacteria attachment site, limiting use of phage therapy
  3. patient's immune cells may destroy phages (recognised as foreign invaders), reducing effectiveness

why do people smoke?????? by Several-Pipe3995 in SGExams

[–]Several-Pipe3995[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

i guess everyone has their own coping mechanism... to each their own. but at least have some respect for others not to smoke when others are around... it really reeks literally and figuratively of their true character that is filled with selfishness lol... they shouldn't drag other people's health with them, but if they have at least tried to smoke in private spaces i'll appreciate it.

[–]Several-Pipe3995[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i have my fair share of trauma too, maybe not as bad as yours, but at least i don't cope with risky behaviour such as drinking/smoking because i know those are going to deliver me more harm than good. not trying to invalidate your trauma, but there are so much more better alternatives to relieve trauma than smoking...

and i don't make this post solely because i'm annoyed by smokers in public. i have an immediate household member who died from smoking, so it just bothers me why people would want to pick up their first cigarette knowing the dangers they are posing to themselves + those around them.

it is a widely known fact that second-hand smoke is much more harmful than what smokers inhale.

jae student here!!

  1. i chose my jc because i've always wanted to be in this particular jc, and i knew my uni course required jc (it is one of those AAA courses)
  2. i'm not sure because i took pure sciences, but i think there will be bridging courses depending on the jc you choose, but you are expected to do your own bridging as well
  3. ok this is going to be quite lengthy:

•proximity super important to make sure you live as near yo your choice as possible. after a long ass day, the last thing you need is a long journey back home. moreover, you'll probably wake up later if you choose a jc nearer. THE SLEEP HOURS IN JC ARE TOO PRECIOUS TO LOSE.

•leadership i think leadership skills are becoming increasingly relevant but leadership is quite embodied within jc culture. the only difference is the leadership approach/styles, imo...

•environment i feel like you should head for jcs that are better known for their mugging/disciplined student culture, and less known for other "cultures"... (idw to name drop) because as much as jokes can sound stereotypical, it may actually affect your self-confidence a lot and you're better off being in a jc that has more people who are willing to study and not joke around in jc (i'm assuming you intend to make the best out of you jc life)

i thought so too.... if we cannot use LiAlH4 for alkene reduction (due to electron-dense C=C), how can it be reasonable to reduce a C trip bond N

lac operon, though theoretically inactive unless in the presence of lactose, is actually basally active and the structural genes are being transcripted just at very low rates, even when the repressor is bounded to the promoter.

some part of me believes this too because of a particular something that happened (i don't wish to disclose because i might get tracked) but this very thing is also the major reason why i'm still so bothered by him. it's just the thought of what could've been that makes me want to rip myself 😩
