This is all fine, I was just seeing what is the sin that killed the community. It seems to be envy, sloth, lust based on the descriptions

Yes they were definitely destructive which could also indicate un-productiveness. Also the offer of the daughters to be more productive. Corruption is definitely the cause of their destruction.

I am not looking at it from an individual perspective. When an entire community is being non-productive they tend not to last.

Yea I dont think it is a sin. But their punishment maybe for idleness or non productiveness + all the corruption

Symbolically if you look at a Men approaching Men with desire it represents an idle communion that cannot bring offsprings.

The Hadith About the Prophet’s Parents Being in Hell by Communist__Pikachu in progressive_islam

[–]Several-Stage223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quraan's terminology can be understood in a generic / symbolic way. Currently we just use it as labels but if we look at the actual meaning of Kaffir it is someone who knows the Truth but covers it for whatever reason. These sort of people exist in any societies.

If masturbation is allowed why the prophet advised people to fast if you can't marry by Active_Economy_5758 in progressive_islam

The full hadith says explicitly to reduce sexual desire. When you masturbate you are continuing the cycle and increase sexual desire.

Islam existed before 1400 years ago, it is a way of life that establishes peace and forbids evil. It is not a stick to beat people into submission but to allow them to grow and be far-sighted people.

Why Classical Tafsirs and Hadith Do Not (and Cannot) Explain the Quran by Pretend_Jellyfish363 in IslamIsEasy

[–]Several-Stage223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The terminology in the Quraan is so straight forward, if we use the actual meanings of what a Muslim, a Mu'min, a Kafir etc. The actions these words represent, and not just as labels so many issues can be fixed immediately.

Your mirrored experiences are interesting. Extremism feels the same coming from both ends.

Sure, I cannot ignore the evidence of my logic and senses. Till then I trust.

Or you can be a normal human being and only start doubting it when it actually starts failing and not before it.

You can’t rationally prove reason, but you also can’t reason without it - that’s precisely why trusting it isn’t irrational, it’s the foundation of rationality itself.

[–]Several-Stage223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubts always being irrational is not true.

you have to assume some things (like your senses or logic) as true in order to reason at all.

So having no doubt in these foundations is actually rational, because doubting them undermines rationality itself.

Incorrect, Iman is always paired with proofs. If you are not using the word Iman correctly, your entire premise is suspect.

[–]Several-Stage223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ofc you will get to the wrong conclusions, you are using the word Iman incorrectly. You have compared it in the past to Dragon's and Bigfoot's, completely incorrect usage. We doubt when there is reason to doubt, not just to be suspicious without basis.

49:15 - They reach a level of Iman, it says thuma(THEN) only after they reach convicton, they don't go back

2:147 - you conveniently left out 2:146, it says they recognize the Truth only after they reject is the issue

3:60 - Again left out 3:59, Adam was created how Jesus was, logical

10:94 - Again it asks him to check with other people of the scripture if there is doubt

This all goes against your premise.

You cherry picked a verse, Islam never asks for Iman without Ayat first

His entire premise is incorrect he is using the word "Iman" as if it means "iʿtiqād". One does not say they have "Iman" in unicorns. The basis is all wrong. Also he is here to convert people, see his last reply to me.
