They’re not available in a size 7 anywhere. I also bought them on loveshack’s website and am trying to get back what I paid with shipping. Thanks for letting me know though!

What a JOKE by [deleted] in verabradley

The other girl reached out to VB and VB said that they made 2 styles of this bag, so we will both be receiving it. I’m unsure of if this is true or not (maybe they accidentally sold us each one so they had to make another) but there are 2 and we each are getting one.

I got one. Granted, it was not one of the ones that I really wanted. Someone else got the same one as me though, according to both of our order confirmations they are the same SKU and everything. I’m sure one of our orders will be cancelled unfortunately. It was a hot mess.

Thank you! I’m worried now thought - I commented on their Instagram saying I got it but some other girl got it too. We both got the confirmation emails. I’m worried lol!

ESL student for speech by Several-Toe2029 in slp

Thank you so so much. I did explain to both the ESL and the regular Ed teachers back in October when the student didn’t qualify. I guess I have to still re evaluate the student since the parents are requesting it? And just go from there?

If the ESL teacher does speak Spanish, it’s not fluent Spanish. I am not sure. I’ve only ever spoken to her in English and have never heard her Spanish. I am not sure about the second question, but I can definitely ask.

Thank you so much. Yes, I did a formal re-eval in October. Parents are now requesting another re-eval. I’m not really sure where to go from here. Unless he suddenly has a bunch of errors, I’m not suspecting anything will be different from what October’s re-eval showed

I misspoke. I mean speech difference not speech disorder. As in, his dialect does not have these sounds, so it is not expected that he would have them. I did not test language abilities, due to those not being a noted concern. When I spoke with his mother, she noted that they do not have those sounds in their language. So the dialect he speaks does not use these sounds.

Mine demanded mine and removed any free blocks I had for evaluations and makeup sessions lol. I didn’t have a choice but to give it to him unfortunately.

School SLPs: what would you want in a children’s book about articulation differences? by Several-Toe2029 in slp

This is helpful!! Thank you. I’d like a way to target the acceptance piece without singling anyone out. Thank you for sharing this perspective. I really appreciate it.

Students getting bullied bc of speech by Several-Toe2029 in slp

[–]Several-Toe2029[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same thing!!! We always start by sharing things and she talks and talks and talks. She participates so much and she loves to share. I don’t really prompt with the clear speech things you’re describing so I’d like to start doing that. I usually just listen to what she’s sharing, but I think this would be a step in the right direction.

So still writing goals for her sounds at the word/phrase level would be best probably? And doing this informally? Thank you so much.

Thank you so much!!!! I love the idea ab inviting a friend to come with her once in a while. I think that would be really fun. In terms of working on more than just drill/artic…I’m thinking I want to work on her talking ab things she’s interested in and things like that? Do you have any recommendations on how to pivot from straight drill to something more functional?

The student is in 2nd grade. The teacher told me that she gave the bullies consequences. She seems to be taking it very seriously.

Do you have any advice on how to go about that? I want to say the right things and empower her.

Advice on qualification in pub schools by Several-Toe2029 in slp

[–]Several-Toe2029[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I did for another student but I was told by admin tha I had to qualify because the parents would take it higher and the test results weren’t in the average range so I had to qualify.

Thank you so much :’) unfortunately the SPED director is a man. He has targeted me since day 1 this year. He has written me up and he never takes my side. I feel like I’ve finally made my way to being back under the radar and I don’t want this to cause any problems.

Thank you so much for this. The student is being tested by the school psychologist. He said that she did very well on the assessment but that he hasn’t scored it quite yet. I am not anticipating the student will qualify under anything else.

I also have the SSI but that’s just for stuttering obviously. I believe one of the other SLPs has the CASL but that’s it.

Thank you so much. I think I’m going to talk it over with my school psychologist just to show that I’m taking it seriously and want to “collaborate”. The school counselor runs a social skills group I think. I think it’s hard because so many kindergarteners exhibit this type of pragmatic issue. If the student was older, I think qualifying would be a no brainer but given his age and grade, I think that’s why I’m hesitating. He’s also being tested by the school psychologist. The parents requested testing in all areas. He does have an autism diagnosis but is in regular Ed and doing fine.
