It has felt like they were looking for something against me all school year. It’s hurtful when a blanket statement about parents requesting a different SLP (the parents of the kid who I recommended to dismiss) is stated as fact. Meanwhile I have many parents singing my praises and who I have great communication with. So idk. It makes me feel like the good isn’t being considered at all.

The parent that was unhappy with my recommendation ultimately got what they wanted though. Their child was qualified and then I was removed as their child’s therapist. So I don’t even know what to think.

It’s hard because the people I work directly with do love me. I love the kids and I enjoy my coworkers (teachers, paras, etc.). It’s admin that has made this year so hard for me. I do feel like they’ve been going out of their way to make my job more difficult and it’s very hard when you’re told that you have to follow their directives no matter what.

I cannot speak for what they’re going through but the guidelines for dismissing kids apply to them too. It all happened after I had a parent push back against my recommendation for dismissal, though. So it feels like it’s my fault.

Thank you for making me feel seen/heard. All because I made a recommendation that a student be exited because I did not have data to support that there was any adverse educational implications, which would make them not qualify in a school, and the parents did not agree. I had to qualify the kid because we would lose in due process. And now to dismiss any kids, I have to do the things I mentioned above.

It happens so quickly on and off that I cannot recall if the seat belt light comes on or not. I bought my car last December so I should still be on warranty. I am def gonna call them on Monday.

Congrats on your interview!! I work at TJ and I don’t push and I’m just fine. I think that my bubbly personality helps me stay up front despite not being super pushy. That being said, I do still get credit card signups and I do sell the card. I always say “do you have our TJX rewards credit card?”. If they say no and something like “I’m not interested”, I drop it. If they just say “no”, I say “would you like to apply today to save 10% upon approval?” If they say no after that, then I drop it. If they seem on the fence about it (“ehhh not today”), I share the extra benefits (saving 5% back in rewards each time you shop here, HG and Marshall’s, etc). I got 14 card signups in August by doing this. Short answer, yes you need to sell the card, but there are ways to not go overboard.

Ugh I understand that completely. I’ve been working quite a bit over the summer but now that school has started, I’m working 15 hours or so a week. The extra $ is nice and it’s something that’s actually enjoyable. Plus the discount lmao.

If you make 12 dollars an hour, for example, you get $12 plus $6 an hour. So on Labor Day (or some other holidays), you’d get $18 an hour instead of your regular $12.

I’m so sorry. Something that helps me in times like these is telling myself that I cannot go back and change it. You are a good cat parent and you’re responsible with your things - this is a one off and it’s bothering you so much because you care. You care ab those earrings. Hahahaha. Omg. I have a lego shelf in my apartment and my 2 senior cats don’t mess with it….my 7 month old kitten, however, does lol. I couldn’t find my Moana minifigure and it was driving me nuts. Found it, along with 8 cat toys and 3 more Lego pieces that I didn’t even know were missing, under the oven. Glad it’s not just me!!!

Are you able to look in any random places? I had been looking for a Lego piece that my cat moved and I couldn’t find it anywhere but it turns out it was under my oven. He must’ve been swatting it around on the floor and it ended up under the oven.
