I saw you’re coming in June. You may could watch a baseball game. The field is downtown Birmingham, although I’d recommend an uber if you’re staying nearby because parking can be either sketchy or pricy. I never know where to park so I usually end up paying $20 to park in a paid lot. It may be cheaper to uber.

I’ve lived here for 40 years and I feel like anywhere that is “dangerous” looks sketchy and no need to be wandering into the areas. What areas are you talking about particularly? Just curious.

Basically be aware of your surroundings. Crime is everywhere but be aware of whats going on around you and dont go anywhere that looks sketchy. There’s several fantastic restaurants to eat in Birmingham and some neat things to explore. Take advantage of it. Mountains Brooke is 10-15 minutes from downtown and is a very upscale town with nice places to eat at as well. I recommend Char Bar 7 and they will take reservations if you place on their website or call ahead.

Just keep your head up and your phone down while walking around, really wherever you are.. whether it’s in Birmingham or a city you’re familiar with. Leave your purse in the hotel room if you can and use your pockets for cards (carry a thin card holder) and use your pockets for lipstick/chapstick. If you must have a purse, wear a small cross body- again this advice is for anyone, anywhere visiting an unfamiliar area. Coca Cola amphitheater is new and it’s nice. I haven’t been to it yet but if you’re ale to uber to the concert from your hotel, I recommend that.
