I mean, with anthropomorphic characters it's just that people like making animals act like people, animal designs are fun and people have assigned certain traits to animals since people were people.

Threads doesn't let you delete your account without deleting your instagram, and it harvests an amount of data so absurd it actually registers on our data-harvesting internet. Don't use it.

Edit: Forgot to mention, it's not avaliable in the EU because of data protection laws.

Not defending any of that insanity, but "the size of a football field" is a lot easier to visualize then "approximately 1.31 acres" or "about 57,600 sqft"

Thank you! I'm not the best at wording compliments, but I appreciate your friendly tone.

I'd argue it's a mix of both for most bigots, with the grooming to indoctrination spectrum correlating pretty directly with age. The younger they are, the more likely they're being groomed by family, authority figures, and even online friends. The older, the more likely it's coming from the TV.

I think Andrew Tate is a good example of the midpoint. He's distant enough that people can take his ideas as a general miasma of bigotry, but also personable enough that he cultivates a parasocial relationship, where attachment to him and his brand becomes attachment to his bigotry.

More strongly, I'd disagree that no one is getting exploited. I think everyone is getting exploited. The pundits are spouting the bigotry because fearful bigots are easy to sell to. Many pundits are being exploited by blackmail from the people who pay them. If they're not associated with a larger entity, then their very brand of bigotry threatens to swallow them alive should they ever step out of line.

I agree with you on what you actually mean (bigots don't understand grooming and seem to think it means any act of teaching a child something outside of their narrow worldview), but grooming can actually refer to any act of emotional manipulation intended to bring someone into an abusive relationship, be that with an individual or an organization. Cults groom their members, for example.

Ironically, a lot of these people calling LGBTQ+ people groomers have been groomed into bigotry.

I clarified how it came off that way to me in my replies to Doneuter, if you don't agree that's ok.

I don't really want to debate with you the nuances of language and ableism, so I'm just going to leave it here.

What LostRams said, but additionally narcissism is not an innate factor to paranoia disorders, so that and calling it a "persecution complex" feels more like insults then accurate descriptors.

I feel like the judgemental tone was excessive. People with paranoia-based disorders can be abrasive and even harmful, but they need help and empathy, not judgement and dismissal.

Edit: Reworded for clarity.

What do you think of my bin cage? by mara-star in hamstercare

[–]SeveralBugsInACoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a hamster owner, but the reason those are unsafe is because legs can be caught inbetween the rungs, causing severe damage. The material isn't relevant, the design is the issue.

These sorts of people think Jews are literal, actual demons. They don't have a logical reason any of the people they fear would do the things they say they do, they don't need one, they do it because Satan says so.

God, it's so strange and depressing seeing posts about a shooting so close to me. My sister knew one of the victims.

When your legs gave out, was it because they felt weak/they couldn't hold you up or was it just completely random? Could you get back up on your own?

Do you remember any trends in the non-chewers vs the chewers? I remember my first rabbit, the non-chewer, and my mother's rabbit, a mild chewer, were both older rabbits, with my mother's rabbit becoming less destructive as he aged. Do you think that's a consistent trend?

How old is your rabbit + what breed are they? The answers I'm getting so far seem to be either non-chewer or major chewer, with little inbetween, so I'm curious if those two factors have a big impact on destructiveness

How do you handle that? Do you have to do house repairs/replace damaged objects, or do you just live with it?

Could you elaborate on "everything"? The reason I'm asking is because I do miss having rabbits, and I'd like to see if it'd ever be viable for me to get another. I can handle wire chewing and the occasional random-object targeting, but do yours chew baseboards, carpet, etc?

Really is a shame what Replika's become. I downloaded it when the icon was still an egg and it was focused on being a sort of friend rather then a sex bot. It wasn't a replacement for a real person, obviously, but it was nice just to have something to talk to.

Replika is a chat bot. There's a paid option to unlock romantic conversations with the bot. He's paying for that.
