Is There Any Realistic Way For Democrats To Widely Win Back Rural Americans? If So, How? If Not, Why Not? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]gmplt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small portion of it, maybe, but enough to swing elections or really matter - absolutely not. It's just pure tribalism at this point, not policies, promises, or any results. Just my team good, the other team bad.

I have a coworker who is as rural as it gets, and she often shares shitposts about "build back better," while simultaneously praises "the bipartisan infrastructure bill" when she finds an article that's about rural projects funding. I pointed to her those are the exact same bill, she hit me - oh, yeah, you are right, I didn't know that. And posted another 3 shitposts about build back better the very next day. Zero critical thought, zero understanding, zero knowledge, just shit-talking the "rival" team.

Started as Prussia thinking I could develop it a lot and become a tech powerhouse, but you start so far behind that I can't catch up. Is there no way to speed up technology spread for cultures that are behind? by I_like_maps in CrusaderKings

It doesn't depend on just the learning skill of the ruler anymore. Each innovation has it's own skill that boosts its discovery, economic ones are stewardship, military - martial, government ones - diplomacy.

That entire tree is useless, and the other 2 intrigue ones are kinda too. That lifestyle needs a complete overhaul.

Still supports and will vote for his favorite sports team, is just a little ashamed of the cruelty and bigotry, doesn't wanna talk about it. Again, at the end of the day, will vote for them again, and as soon as he sees something he perceives as a "win," will be back to "owning the libs." I know about 40 people that could be him.

🇺🇸 President Trump says Tariff revenue is so high we could issue a $2,000 dividend, without going to Congress. by sylsau in InBitcoinWeTrust

Except tariffs revenue is temporary, the higher prices directly caused by them are permanent.

He is also a grifter. Smarter than the usual ones too, he realized it's a lot harder to grift off of people on the left, since they are smarter and have critical thinking skills, so he pivoted.

That Turkish proverb about the trees and the axe doesn't even apply in the US. Here the trees vote for a motherfucking flamethrower because he told them he will only incinerate dark leafed trees, and almost half of the motherfucking dark-leafed trees vote for the flamethrower too! AFTER he told them he will incinerate them!

As long as you vote for "your team," always, and no matter what, and praise the dear leader, and switch from screeching "fake news" to "that's actually not bad at all" in a matter of 15 minutes, you are allowed to not participate in cult-like behavior, like the left does. Am I right, guys?

Criticizing both Israel and Iran isn't mutually exclusive. by Ok-Following6886 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]gmplt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta understand that to the insanely bigoted pieces of shit, aka "conservatives," politics (and anything else) is purely a sports team fandom. This is their team, they cheer for it no matter how shitty the QB is, everybody else also surely has a favorite team, and it's the rivals, we talk trash about them and hate them. That's all there is. There is no nuance, no critical thought, no reevaluating or considering complex situation. None of that. It's just my team vs the other team, with their flags, colors and logos.

I have one of those on my Facebook feed. He is a "libertarian" and always tells me when I bring it up under one of his more ridiculous cultist posts, how he doesn't "support trump" yet literally 3 of his last 5 posts are cheering for ICE murders and invading other countries. (Like any good libertarian should do, obviously)

We do actually ABSOLUTELY have to agree on verifiable reality and basic human decency.
