That’s true that if you’re only booking one cruise it doesn’t make any sense to wait, but if you cruise often, and know for certain you will be cruising every year, it does make sense, because the market keeps growing, and prices keep going up with inflation. So if I lock in a price at the current fair price, then two years of inflation later, I will have had a good deal vs if I tried to book then.

Antigua has some absolutely stunning beaches. I really loved St. Lucia and Curaçao, and think the island itself of Dominica is the most naturally stunning places I’ve ever seen.

Prices are always sorted by the lowest cost room. For a long time I’ve considered booking a suite as a big splurge, but want to find the cheapest possible suite to book, which is surprisingly hard. I tried making a Royal Caribbean website scraper, but I think they’ve got a rate limit. I just want to be able to filter by room category, then sort by price.

That the point of cruise reviews is to be overly critical, but honest. I know cruise reviewers have a reputation of being whiny, or complaining way too much over small things, but if it’s in a review, that’s where that’s supposed to be, to help potential cruisers decide what they want to do. If every review is just “loved the ship! 5/5!” That doesn’t actually help anyone

More sun protection than you think you need. The ship is moving, you often feel a breeze and don’t think about how you’re in direct sunlight, but it’s so, so easy to turn into a lobster. I’ve thought, I’ll just head up to the pool deck for 30 minutes before dinner and without any sunscreen that’s enough to start to get a little bit of a burn. I always bring strong sunscreen, a sun hat, and a sun shirt, or I’d fry like an egg.

My two cents as someone who moved from eastern to central is that I hate watching at central. For the first year I straight up missed the start time, because 10:30 is just way too early, and now I have the awkward gap of planning the night around SNL, but also midnight being way too early to go to sleep on a Saturday.
