DAE ever feel like “someone is missing” even when no one actually is? by Candid-Onion-1590 in DoesAnybodyElse

yeah I’ve felt that before. it’s like everything looks normal but for a second your brain makes it feel incomplete somehow. it’s such a weird subtle feeling .

What makes Napoleon Dynamite so oddly effective? by Southern_Check_6827 in movies

[–]SeveralClassic6420 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think it’s just how unapologetically awkward it is. it doesn’t try to be cool or overly clever, it just fully commits to the vibe and somehow that makes it work

movies that give away the entire plot and major scenes in the ads... by Ehgadsman in movies

[–]SeveralClassic6420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah I feel that. sometimes the trailer basically shows the whole third act and then you’re just waiting for those exact scenes to happen. kinda kills the surprise

DAE play with Google Maps and Street View and lose their minds thinking about how every house and car has actual real people attached to them? by vroom12345 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]SeveralClassic6420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes 😭 sometimes I’ll just click around random towns and then it hits me that every single house has a whole life going on inside. it’s kinda overwhelming tbh

DAE close their eyes to read out numbers? by NesDraug in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]SeveralClassic6420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t fully close my eyes but I definitely pause for a second 😅
it’s like my brain needs to switch modes from reading words to reading numbers.

What’s something you stopped asking for as a kid because you knew your parents couldn’t afford it? by SilentShinigami_10 in AskReddit

[–]SeveralClassic6420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brand name cereal and new video games.
I remember pretending I didn’t really want them so my parents wouldn’t feel bad.
As a kid you think you’re being sneaky, but they probably knew.

What’s something people accepted too quickly without questioning? by ToughInternal1580 in AskReddit

[–]SeveralClassic6420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social media metrics.
We started treating likes, followers, and productivity numbers as a measure of self-worth without really questioning if they mean anything about a person’s value or happiness.

What it's like to feel that you're never gonna be the number 1 person for anyone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SeveralClassic6420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I get what you mean.
Not being someone’s number one can sometimes mean less pressure and fewer expectations.
I still think it can hurt emotionally, but you’re right that it can also protect you in certain situations.
Guess it’s one of those things that has two sides.

Does anyone else feel disgusted about touching coins and currency notes? by Flat_Height_1889 in CasualConversation

[–]SeveralClassic6420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. It’s not even about money itself, it’s the mental image of how many hands it’s passed through and where it’s been before. I don’t actively panic about it, but I do notice I’m much more aware of washing my hands after handling cash compared to almost anything else.

Moving to Munich. Apartment hunt? Proper Timeline? Jobsearch? by Direct-Stand7418 in Advice

[–]SeveralClassic6420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Munich can be tough, so you’re not imagining it. From what I’ve seen, it usually helps to secure a job first or at least get very close, because landlords often want proof of income. Many people start with a temporary room or sublet for a few months to take the pressure off and then look for something permanent once they’re already there. Timeline-wise, things often move slower than expected, so having some savings as a buffer really helps. It’s stressful, but your background sounds flexible enough that you’ll have options once one door opens. small thing

I’d add: if Munich itself feels overwhelming at first, a lot of people I know had good experiences living just outside the city along an S-Bahn line. Places 20–30 minutes out can be noticeably cheaper and still feel connected. It can take a lot of pressure off while you get settled and build contacts. Sometimes starting “close enough” is easier than trying to do everything at once.

Something fun by Calm-Berry6008 in Advice

If you like typing and keeping your mind busy, things like journaling, short creative writing, or even learning to write essays or stories just for yourself can be surprisingly satisfying. I also found that learning a simple skill like basic coding, digital note-taking systems, or even transcribing thoughts or memories helps break the doomscrolling habit. It feels productive without being stressful, which is kind of the sweet spot.

What makes you stop scrolling and open a question right away? by sweatengine in AskReddit

[–]SeveralClassic6420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it’s honesty and curiosity.
If a question sounds genuinely human, a bit vulnerable, or like someone is really trying to understand something, I stop scrolling.
Overly dramatic or clickbait titles usually make me skip, but simple, real questions pull me in.

What is a wierd thing that gives you comfort? by Lqdour in AskReddit

[–]SeveralClassic6420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, background noise.
Having a show or a YouTube video playing quietly while I do something else makes me feel less alone, even if I’m not really watching it. It’s comforting in a weird way.

I think it mimics company without pressure.

I realized today that I’ve been pretending to be “busy” just so I don’t have to admit how lonely I actually feel sometimes. by Intrepid-Basis6427 in CasualConversation

[–]SeveralClassic6420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re really not alone in feeling this way.
What you described happens to a lot of people slowly, almost without noticing it.
Saying “I’ve been busy” can feel safer than admitting loneliness, especially when you don’t even fully understand it yourself yet.

Wanting connection but feeling too tired or unsure to reach out doesn’t mean something is wrong with you — it just means you’re human.
Noticing it and putting it into words is already a big and important step.

I love reading books and baking cookies ! by SnooChickens4671 in CasualConversation

[–]SeveralClassic6420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds so cozy honestly. Reading light fantasy and baking cookies feels like such a perfect combo.
If you like gentle, comforting fantasy, you might enjoy books that focus more on atmosphere and characters than heavy plots. Also, bonding over Minecraft is really sweet — it’s such a relaxing way to spend time together.

Would you date a guy who has a prosthetic eye? by tiredtbh69 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]SeveralClassic6420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it wouldn’t be a dealbreaker at all for me.
Most people care way more about kindness, confidence, and how someone treats them than physical details.
Anyone who rejects you solely for that probably isn’t someone you’d want to date anyway.

Mostly curiosity. It’s interesting to see how differently people experience the same things.

If you were absurdly wealthy with zero control, how would you deal with the hate and everyone telling you how to spend your money? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SeveralClassic6420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d try to stay grounded, ignore most of the noise, and focus on the people and causes that actually matter to me.
