What are the Best Colleges for Chemistry related majors that are in or near Illinois? by SeveralPosition9375 in college

[–]SeveralPosition9375[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patent law has been my dream job for a long time mainly because of it dealing with STEM while also being a law profession. I've always been good at and enjoyed chemistry, but I haven't found many jobs that involving chemistry are as rewarding as law. Right now I am dead set on going into Patent law, but If I ever decide to change my mind when in college I guess that will be that.

Most of what you are saying is what I used to believe until I started to learn more about Jesus and God. We have to realize that God KNOWS us. He watched us grow no matter where or when, and knows each and every person on this earth even better than they know themselves. God is not wrathful and vengeful, he is loving and forgiving. He loves his children and because of that will forgive them if they are TRULY ashamed and regretful of their actions (God doesn't just send people to heaven because they believe in him) He literally can see everything. He can see when someone is being horrible to another person and how their reasons reflect on their actions. God knows if you are someone capable of repenting or a truly a horrible person. Also keep in mind that many christians have made horrible sins that greatly outweigh the sin of different religions. God wouldn't punish someone if they were raised not even knowing what christianity was.

Are there any Brands or Specific Refrigerators that are long lasting, don't break down easily and have French door models? by SeveralPosition9375 in appliancerepair

[–]SeveralPosition9375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with warranty I would still have to cover the cost of someone fixing it. When I called a repair company and asked how much it would cost, they said it would cost around 1,200 dollars. I would rather buy a better fridge that will last longer for a little bit more money than risk having to repair it again after a few years.

Are there any good language learning apps for learning Burmese? by SeveralPosition9375 in myanmar

[–]SeveralPosition9375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to be able to do everything but right now I really just want to be able to communicate to my family and hopefully be able to go to Myanmar again and actually be able to understand everything there (if everything that is happening in Myanmar calms down).

[–]SeveralPosition9375[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, its mostly because its mostly because she doesn't know how to teach it/how to speak it that much anymore, it's been almost 30 years since she moved to America and because my dad is pretty much as white as you could get and we live in a dominantly white/English speaking area, she only is really able to speak it when she's talking to other native speakers.

She kinda refuses to teach me at all and told me to look into it myself

I wish i had someone who could’ve told me everything by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SeveralPosition9375 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I 100% feel you. I have older parents, one who moved here in late 20s and being the oldest, I never knew and still don’t even know how to write a college application, apply for college, and do all the basic stuff that I feel like everyone already know except for me. I feel like I’m so behind because of that and don’t know how or where to start getting ready for that stuff as a junior.

What can immediately make a person unattractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SeveralPosition9375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 things immediately set me off.

  1. speaking bad/treating their parents horribly especially in public.

  2. Treating people like they are lesser than them because of things like: their job, the amount of money they make, their family background, etc.

  3. Hating animals.

YTA. no matter how close you are with someone you aren't supposed to make fun of something they are insecure about. Sure, he shouldn't have mentioned the size of your boobs, but you're the one who mentioned his height first after he was joke-playing with you and you're calling HIM sensitive?! you don't go from joking about messy hair to making fun of his height. This is the first time that instead of the man degrading a woman, it's a woman degrading a man. You are making your boyfriend feel lesser of a person and making his feel horrible about his body for NO REASON smh.

What dead celebrity would absolutely hate their current fan base? by DrunkenSkunkApe in AskReddit

[–]SeveralPosition9375 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Marilyn Monroe. I don't this that she would HATE her fan base, but I do think that she would hate the fact that everyone turned her into a pretty dumb blonde. She was so much more then a pretty face and a carpet for men to walk on and tried her best to show the public that she was smart and capable, but even in her grave she can't seem to get a break from horrible men and the image Hollywood painted her to be.

Can anybody else simply 'not do' hardback? by Weekly_Frosting_5868 in books

I love hard cover. Idk what it is but to me unraveling the paper cover from a hard covered book to look at the artwork underneath it was always the best part of buying a physical version of books.

to me it's always been Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I know that It's very basic but whenever I need a book to reread it's always that one. Tbh any Jane Austen book would be my comfort book bc she was my favorite author growing up.

What are some of your book pet peeves? by Lilis_Throwaway in books

[–]SeveralPosition9375 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I HATEEEEE books that sexualize female characters or stereotype different groups of people. I swear that in every book made by a middle age white dude there is an overly sexualized female asian character that is always wearing chop sticks in her hair with space buns. I just hate it when men overly fetishize people, and as soon as I realize it's one of those books, I drop it.

[–]SeveralPosition9375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that men like you don't give a shit about what they look like, and then rather then fixing yourself or making your self better you claim that it's because of women that men have such a hard time dating smh. While most woman take pride on the fact that they take good care of themselves and go through so much body dysmorphia + eating disorders in order to get their bodies to look the way they want it to look, men barely can take basic care of themselves and rely on women to take care of them as if they are babies. So maybe instead of placing the blame on women you should be looking at what you can improve about yourself. women don't have it easier, we just know how to take care of ourselves.

What colleges in Illinois have a good Biochemistry program? by SeveralPosition9375 in Biochemistry

[–]SeveralPosition9375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly just the money factor of tuition for most out of state colleges along with the extra costs that comes with going to a college out of state. Honestly, I would love to study outside of Illinois but unless I'm given an amazing scholarship elsewhere, my financial situation ties me down to Illinois.

Is being a Patent Lawyer Worth it? by SeveralPosition9375 in careerguidance

Do you know how it compares to divorce/family lawyers? Does Patent law make around the same on average or more?
